Ted Cruz on Wednesday edged into a virtual tie with GOP front-runner Donald Trump in a new Quinnipiac University poll released on Wednesday for the state of Iowa, with Trump retaining a narrow lead of 25 percent of the vote, followed by Cruz with 23 percent, doubling his support from four weeks ago.
By the numbers:

Thin skinned? HA! Who really cares? Some people think we need someone a bit thin skinned who is willing to fight back against the cookie-cutter mentality called go-along to get-along being shoved down our throats. The GREAT leaders in our history as a nation have NOT been go-along-to get-along people. How did we get to be a nation? We said NO to the strongest military might in the world at that time. ALL of the founding fathers pledged their lives, their fortunes, and their sacred honor to the cause of liberty. I am NOT willing to vote one more time for a politician who will sell us out once he gets in office. We need an outsider who can see the forest AND the trees. TRUMP!
Arnold was married to a DEMOCRAT(Pillow talk) and he was not a real American. Pretty weak argument on your part!
I could never vote for M. Rubio. He cannot even handle his simple personal finances and one of his donors hired his wife, who has no experience, as consultant or adviser to his foundation, to help him pay his bills. He is for amnesty. It is one thing to flip-flop, but he was actively involved to push amnesty with all of his might.
Ted Cruz has stood hard for securing the border long before Trump bellowed his way onto the campaign stage.
.........................................................
But what has he been able to DO about it? Absolutely nothing. Trump’s turn to build the wall, and he WILL!
All Cruz has to do is run ads with Rubio standing next to Schmucky Chucky Schummer Dick Turbin from Chicago when they pushed amnesty, that should do it
The boss from the Simpsons
EXCELLANT !
Ace Ventura “ Liiiike a glove “
It was simply a case of your comment being meaningless. A comeback for comeback’s sake.
A waste of time.
So, through that whole screed, youâre not denying Trumpâs pro-seizure stance on property rights, then.
......................................................
My position is mixed. If a little piece of property is blocking an immense project which will raise the employment figures for the community, allow some people to get off welfare, and lift an area into a beautiful scenario for the future AND the property owner is offered a price substantially higher than the property is worth.....which was the case in the instance you refer to....
then I do not see that the stubborn stupidity and selfishness of the property owner should prevail any more than blocking a highway or freeway which would improve traffic should. I am all for property rights when they are reasonable, but i do not see selfishness and stupidity as a saving grace for the property owner. EVERY highway in this country has necessitated the loss of some private property rights. Deny that!
OK, TRUMP supporters I told you that us Ted Cruz supporters would take notes and take names of examples of Trump supporters trolling.
Fantasy Writer ?
Jane Long ?
Endropy12 ?
Here you go, here in this post is a example of Trump supporters trolling and getting out of line.
Both sides need to stop it.
Well he follows a great example. John Adams was thin-skinned too. He left Washington in the dead of night after losing his reelection to Thomas Jefferson. Eventually they became the best of friends.
Most people do.
? Some people think we need someone a bit thin skinned who is willing to fight back again
Being thin skinned is a sign of weakness not strength.
The GREAT leaders in our history as a nation have NOT been go-along-to get-along people
The Great leaders of our country who have led us through wars have never been thin skinned. George Washington was not thin skinned, neither was Abraham Lincoln or Andrew Jackson. In fact Abraham Lincoln was famously NOT thin skinned.
Do you have any more typically Trumpbot mindless twaddle to spew out?
That’s enough, stop it.
You trolling on Ted Cruz threads is making you and other Trump supporters look bad.
In the case if Vera Coking, it had nothing to do with job creation. Trump wanted space for his limousines.
What you may see as “stubborn stupidity” of the lowly landowner may be in their view a desire to hold onto something that had been in the family’s ownership for decades. What some people fail to understand is not everyone is a worshipper of the almighty dollar and might like to liven out their years in quiet enjoyment of their property. I know that sounds obnoxious and abhorrent, but it’s just a quirkiness some people have.
I find that interesting you respect property rights “when reasonable.” The unfortunate part of the equation is the that power elites like Trump enlist the aid and influence of local officials to do their bidding.
I remember the highly negative reactions of FReepers when the Kelo decision was handed down by the SCOTUS. Fascinating how things change when one of Kelo’s most prominent proponents happens to be the candidate of favor in a presidential contest. Suddenly that opposition to Kelo is so much more “tempered.”
Just curious why your imperfect candidates Achilles Heel issues are any less offensive than another candidates Achilles Heel issues?
...........................................................
Common sense dictates how important the Achilles Heel issues are. Just ONE example among others:
I’ll repeat that Cruz went against his own advisers and voted as McConnell told him to. And then, his excuse was that McConnell lied to him. It was an enormously important vote and Cruz did not have the strength to follow his own convictions and played “Follow the Leader.” and THEN made an excuse.
When I was young, my mother taught me that “Excuses are crutches for weaklings.” She was right. I have found it to be true throughout my life. If you can’t be true to your own convictions, how can you ever be expected to LEAD and not follow? I want a proven leader, not another politician.
“They were both deep thinkers who carefully considered their options before acting”
Exactly. One attribute Trump should not be accused of having is an ability for deep thought.
“But what has he been able to DO about it? Absolutely nothing.”
Cruz has been in the Senate for 2.5 years with most of that time under Harry Reid and all of it with Obama in the White House. Tell me... what do you exactly think he COULD have done??
Exactly!
Exactly what has Trump done so far to secure any wall? A BIG FAT NOTHNG. ZERO!ZILCH!
All he has done is TALK about doing something. Talk is cheap, especially from a guy that supported Obama’s illegal, unconstitutional Dream Act which gave amnesty to an estimated 2.5 million illegals.
Trump is in the title of this thread so I don’t know why some think it is exclusively for Cruz. As long as we’re polite, we’re not breaking any FR rules.
Just fyi.
