A RUSSIAN helicopter has been downed while searching for the pilots who ejected from their burning jet after it was shot down this morning while flying over Syria, according to unconfirmed reports.

The Third World War just started.... I wonder if our stupid President will have the courage to admit it?
Putin & his mafia state are too busy stealing. No chance they nuke their best customers & also their kids will live outside Russia. WWIII won’t be happening. Sorry.
NATO’s governing body, the North Atlantic Council, said it would hold an emergency meeting in Brussels at 5 p.m. (11 a.m. ET) on Tuesday. The council is made up of the NATO ambassadors of the 28 countries that are members of the alliance and is NATO’s highest decision-making body.
The chicken hawks will be screeching.
Probably for the same reasons people here are lining up with Putin and his apocalyptic Mullah friends. They feel they have to choose a side.
The reality is, there are no good guys. There are only madmen, intent on unleashing the most catastrophic war in human history and remaking the world to their specifications out of that chaos.
For years there have been certain pockets of conservatives who believe Obama will seek to extend his term in office, with either hostility, or calamity, with calamity being the favorite choice.
While am not in that camp, I can’t believe that they haven’t picked up on this as a method and means for ‘hope and change’.
We can agree though, that it’s interesting times we live in. I use the Chinese definition of interesting.
I’m looking at a map of turkey and the section of land where the violation took place is only about two miles wide. I would think the Russian jet would have crossed that in less than a minute and been back in Syria.
Why did we decide to over through Assad in the first place? Didn’t we learn any lessons from from Iraq or Libya. These animals only understand one thing, brute force.
Yes, the Russian were tenacious fighters, and produced good rugged weapons systems. Of course, take away all the lend-lease equipment and food, and a lot of that manufacturing capacity goes towards making the millions of transport vehicles that came from Detroit and food that came from America’s heartland. How many close run fights are lost instead of won, because the Russians don’t have US or British armor to fill the gaps, or a fleet of Edsel and Ford trucks to move reinforcements and supplies, and the troops are starving, because they don’t have US rations in their bellies?
This whole revisionist history that paints a picture of the Russians defeating the Germans in the east all on their own is ridiculous.
That may be the reason Russia provoked Turkey. Rumor has it Turkey is supporting ISIS. This could be the excuse Russia uses to take them out.
Russia wants other countries aircraft out of Syrian air space and/or a Russian coordinated international coalition. So they’ve been goading Turkey to respond to create an incident.
Who has control of the narrative?
Were ISIS rebels working just across the Turkish border? Were they in a ‘hot pursuit’?
I’m not a Putin fan, but I do cheer him on vs radical Islam because nobody else is there, and there is nothing that comes from this administration in terms of foreign policy and U.S interests that I trust, and there is next to nothing that comes from the Main stream media that I can believe in.
Based on a slew of articles concerning air defenses in Turkey, and Erogans reelection there's a chance that Turkey gets booted out of NATO.
The sooner the better.
Between 10 and 30 seconds, depending on how fast it was moving. The little finger of Turkish territory it flew across was about a mile wide.
Just consider how many American lives the Russians are saving because they are doing the job Obama won't let Americans do, and we might not harbor such illogical rancor.
A rescue chopper sitting parked?
WE call our mafia thugs “bankers”.
Yep, it’s going to get a whole lot worse before it gets better and we have no one here we can count on to do what is right.
There was no logical, tactical reason. Just as there was no reason to overthrow Gaddafi.
Unless the migrant crisis, the destabilization of Europe, and ultimately, war were the goals.
Don't forget, we had to make up a fictitious terrorist organization out of whole cloth, ("The Khorosan Group") and said they posed an "imminent danger to aviation", as the casus belli to start bombing Syria and insert ourselves into this mess. That would suggest they're doing this for reasons they're not exactly comfortable with sharing publicly.
Another FReeper told me the Russian Orthodox bible is quite different from the one we are used to.
If he borrowed from the Torah then make them recite something from the New Testament. I bet they dont know a word of that one.
“We have long been recording the movement of a large amount of oil and petroleum products to Turkey from Isis-occupied territories. This explains the significant funding the terrorists are receiving” - Putin
