Trump: Actually, I May Break My Pledge Not To Go Third Party

Hey, remember this?

The Pledge #MakeAmericaGreatAgain pic.twitter.com/5OVWdxgLn9 Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) September 3, 2015

After routinely flirting with a third-party run, Donald Trump signed an unambiguously-worded pledge in early September, vowing ;forego a third-party presidential bid if he fails to secure the Republican presidential nomination. Having committed his word,Trump averred that he had "no intention" of reconsidering the promise: "I see no circumstances under which I would tear up that pledge," he said, calling the pledge "total." Now he's mad about some opponents and outside groups announcing plans to attack him, so the thin-skinned and erratic Republican frontrunner is once again changing his tune. Surprise:

Republican presidential frontrunner Donald Trump would not rule out making a run for president as an independent despite signing a pledge over the summer saying he would support the eventual GOP nominee instead of running a third-party bid. "I'm going to have to see what happens. I will see what happens. I have to be treated fairly," Trump said Sunday on ABC's "This Week" when asked about a new guerrilla effort by operatives within the Republican Party to derail Trump's candidacy.

But not to worry, conservatives. He'll be totally reliable on all the issues on which he's completely reversed himself in order to pander to you -- from tax increases, to abortion, to gun control, to government-run healthcare (which he still praises), to immigration rhetoric and policy, etc. His longstanding alignment with the Democratic Party and financial support for Hillary Clinton and Harry Reid shouldn't concern you either. Nor should his ongoing left-wing talking points on "fairness," the Koch brothers, "blame Bush," and expanding the federal bureaucracy. And neither should his abysmally low (34/61) favorability rating among the general electorate, much worse than even his dear friend and benefactor Hillary's terrible numbers. He'll never abandon you in pursuit of his own self-serving interests, or for attention. Incidentally, Trump was given yet another opportunity on Sunday to clear up the "media smear" regarding his allegedly nonexistent support for a national registry of Muslims -- including citizens. He took another pass, declining to answer the question asked of him, keeping things nice and hazy:

Here's the full Trump quote, which seems to be about Syrian refugees, not Muslim citizens. pic.twitter.com/jtnE3Xkk5L Jimmy (@JimmyPrinceton) November 22, 2015

This is more evidence supporting my suspicion that he's deliberately obfuscating. His supporters who insist this is a made-up media hit job can point to his responses focusing on refugees, while other supporters who like the idea of this unconstitutional scheme won't find a denial in there. And then there's this:

GOP presidential front-runner Donald Trump is doubling down on comments that thousands of people in parts of New Jersey with large Arab populations cheered on 9/11. Trump said at a rally on Saturday in Birmingham, Ala. that he watched as the World Trade Center "came tumbling down." "And I watched in Jersey City, New Jersey, where thousands and thousands of people were cheering as that building was coming down," he added. "Thousands of people were cheering." ABC "This Week" host George Stephanopoulos asked Trump on Sunday if he misspoke, noting that "police say that didn't happen and all those rumors have been on the Internet for some time." "It did happen. I saw it, " Trump said. "It was on television. I saw it ... George, it did happen," Trump persisted.

He did not see it, and it was not on television. In fairness to Trump, I distinctly remember hearing rumors about crowds of Muslims in parts of New Jersey openly celebrating on 9/11, but no credible corroborating evidence ever emerged, and local police have strongly refuted the claim. He may have been thinking of this footage showing Palestinians dancing in the streets of Gaza. Conflation is often how false memories form. What's inexcusable, but not surprising, is Trump's reckless, fact-free double-down. But cults of personality will justify and excuse virtually anything. Which helps explain why this vile man still has an approval rating in the low 40's:

2000 was the beginning of the insurgent movement among republicans. FR was instrumental in making sure the chads were counted in the open when election officers tried to take it behind closed doors.

The conservative guerilla groups starting coming together in 2000.That was the beginning. Now the groups have grown to the point that they can carry any candidate they back into the White House no matter what label.

Again you’re glossing over a key tremendously important fact that the national media has scarcely mentioned and for good reason because they are scared to death of the implications. That fact is in the growth in Independent registrations from 24% in 2010 to 42% in 2014, and it hasn’t stopped.

People are not stupid, they are awake and they know the GOPe is tied at the hip to the democrats.

Look at #68 and let that sink in. None of the numbers are optimistic, they are based on conservative estimates, too conservative in fact:

http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/news/3364251/posts?page=68#68

Hillary is very weak. The democrat base wants another choice. Many of them are going to sit home. No amount of “walking around money” is going to increase turnout enough for the dems to get close to Trump/Cruz.

The dem’s ace in the hole was executive amnesty, but that has been stopped after being initiated by yours truly and other Freepers. That gambit was to get them at least an extra 4 million to 6 million voters who would be relocated to critical swing counties across the country. There is actually an order for 34 million security featured hologram cards that were specifically stated to be in anticipation of immigration reform. Now it’s up to the USSC as our insurgent forces attempt to run out the clock using court calendars.

Right now, the battle inside the dem party is between Obama and Hillary. Obama does not trust Hillary at all to carry forward the fundamental transformation and to maintain the cashflow to his army. He wants his people inside her organization controlling her and all her operations. He has blackmail material on her and he will use it if she tries to interfere with his control.

But Trump has people inside the dems that monitor their every move. Trump’s union thug connections are very scary. They are the NY Mob. Hillary and Obama are now up against a more vicious force than they have ever expected.

The GOPe has an under the table agreement with Hillary and all the national media networks to take out Trump. The prize is billions upon billions of dollars of continued cashflow. Trump threatens all of that. They want him gone, destroyed. One of their minions even suggested putting a bullet through Trump. That was not an isolated slip. The HFs want him gone by any means. The problem they have is that Trump’s thugs are a whole other category of vicious and mean. Unfortunately, that’s what it takes.

That’s based on a whole lot of hope.. but hope, however unrealistic, is a good thing for the soul.

That is one way the GOPE can get Hillary elected. I’m done voting for echo’s of liberalism. I want a choice. If the GOPE can’t figure that out then the coming L is on them the idiots.

LOL! Well, I think I know my relatives a bit better than you do, and it wasn’t anything but gullibility, IMHO. People tend to follow the path of least resistance. Actually thinking about, hey, it really matters that Perot was in bed with Planned Parenthood, even if his economic policies sounded appealing, that would require doing some homework, which surprisingly few voters seem willing to do. I understand it happens. That doesn’t mean I have to like it.

And you have to understand, if I thought people were up to it, i’d be all for a 3rd party insurgency. At one point I was a Constitution Party activist and candidate. It didn’t work out because average voters can’t get up the energy to make it real. I know. I tried. When people bluster away, then can’t do even the simplest thing to give real support, it kind of blows their cover. Talk is easy. Talk on FR is even easier. Show up when it counts, and then maybe that would mean something.

So no, the best Trump can hope for going 3rd party is to hand presidency over to another 8 years of undiluted Democrat-led Marxism. No thanks.

Peace,

SR

Apparently, there was an agreement. To hear the republicans talk, Trump was the only party to the agreement.

They don’t have to uphold their end, but he has to on his end.

He didn’t become a multi-billionaire making stupid agreements like that.

“He didn’t become a multi-billionaire making stupid agreements like that.”

Yep. Even a dummy should be able to figure this out.

The GOP signed off, as they stupidly believed Trump would fade. Now that they finally realize he won’t, they are breaking all agreements with Trump.

Post #68 is not hope, it is rational inference rooted in fact.

You see the picture below?

It shows a great white eating a seal. The shark is Trump, the seal in Perot. The story goes like this: both the shark and the seal decided to swim to unknown waters (3rd party). Some very dense observers say the shark will end up in the same situation as the seal in the above image because they think the shark is like the seal.

This Freeper says the shark and the seal are not comparable. The shark is equipped with a whole lot more of what is mean and vicious than the seal would ever have. That shark is going to eat what it wants, but the seal was and will be eaten. That shark will never be eaten. But there are those who are stuck on stupid who insist the shark is like the seal. Nothing can convince them otherwise.

Nice attempt at a metaphor...

What will eat that trumpshark is the electorate in a 3-way. He only leads either leading democrat in one recent nationwide poll — the FoxNews survey — in which the sampling was an unrealistic R+1. A 3-way race will — no matter how much you comfort yourself with numerical manipulation a and theories — result in a loss for all but the dem nominee.

Metaphors, theories and hopes are always going to have to make room for the 800-pound gorilla that is reality on Election Day.

You just revealed you believe in polls. You’re not educated enough to know that in doing such that you just dropped your credibility factor by several notches in the eyes of people that know better.

Look, sport... the only reason Trump is garnering interest right now is because of his standing in polls. If you’re going to throw a feeble attempt out there to condescend about my level of education because I made a reference to the ONLY available numerical data that gives a snapshot of each candidate’s level if support, then you’d better look far more stringently at your own grip on understanding and reality. You have been engaging in quite a large amount of fact-free fantasizing here.

Now I’m done with you. You’re dismissed.
