Legendary conservative radio talk show host Rush Limbaugh explained to his vast audience a key difference between current Republican presidential frontrunner, real estate tycoon and reality TV star, Donald Trump and Texas Senator Ted Cruz, who has been running in third or fourth place behind Trump and Dr. Ben Carson, with Marco Rubio also in the mix.

On Mondays broadcast, the influential Limbaugh gave an analysis of the GOP race to the nomination, praising Cruz as being ideally positioned to be the nominee should Trump or Carson falter, and as the only " thoroughbred conservative."in the race.

"I think that there is a dark horse in this entire thing, and I think there is one candidate who is positioned here," Rush said. "There has been somebody trucking along here, steady-eddy, that has continued to be who he is and continues to lay down foundational markers for himself and thats Ted Cruz. And I think Ted Cruz is, is positioned, I would say ideally, "he contended.

If you didn’t read the TPA bill, it was your own fault. It was available to the public mid April. As a matter of fact, the entire text was posted on FR more than once. Cruz voted “No” on the TPA bill that went to the President’s desk. That is the vote that counted.

TPA fast tracked TPP which no one was allowed to read at the time. Except for a chosen few who were allowed to go into a secured room to view, but no notes were allowed. Ether you did not know that and should have kept quite, or you are just dishonest.

You said no one was allowed to read TPA. I corrected you. Yes, I’m aware that TPP was only completed and released recently. I am also aware that Ted Cruz opposes it as does Trump.

As a matter of fact, I don’t understand why Trump supporters are bashing Cruz when Trump says he and Cruz agree on the issues 100%.

Sure, cruz apposes it now that it cannot be stopped. But when push came to shove cruz not only supported it, he was actively promoting it. Ask your self a few questions, like: Did you and your fellow cruzers here on FR want TPA and the corker bill to pass? Did the Chamber of Commerce and the Club for Growth want TPA and the corker bill to pass? Who did cruz get over a million dollars from in one or two fell swoops? Who had more influence on cruz at the time of the votes? What would be difference the next time cruz has to decide between you and the CoC/CFG?

We don’t know how the TPP vote will go. Last I heard there were at least 20 Republicans opposing it. I support TPA. As far as the Corker bill, it got 97 votes.

thats what emminant domain is supposed to be about not specifically for private gain

Yet the pipeline clearly enriches a private entity. Pipelines receive eminent domain powers from the government precisely because it is seen as having public interest or good. If it's okay to enrich a private entity provided there is public good, then Kelo and every court case like it going back more than a hundred years is utterly vindicated in their conclusions.

If Kelo is wrong, then Keystone is wrong under every circumstance, and the only way to make it "right" would be to nationalize the oil companies or at least the pipelines themselves, perhaps charging TransCanada for their use, or opening them up for use by any other company.

Obama only needs a simple majority, thus increasing the odds of its passage by an extreme amount.

If the Corker bill had never happened, Obama still would have done the Iran deal, calling it an agreement.

If the Corker bill had never happened, Obama still would have done the Iran deal, calling it an agreement.

But it would not have the backing of Congress that it has now. In other words it would not be legitimate, but now that it has the backing of Congress it is. I really don't get why you keep defending this. You have already said that you are all for TPA/TPP, why not just admit that you are all for Iran being armed with nukes and a pact between America and Iran that states America will defend Iran from Israel with military force if Iran needs it. I mean does it really matter what's in the deal? That Cruz voted for it is that should matter, right?

The Iran deal does not have the backing of Congress.

Every President for the last 80 years except one has had Fast Track Authority. It is hardly a new thing. No, I’m not for TPP and would not vote for someone unwilling to shred the Iran deal.

The conservative message works every time it is articulated in an appropriate way. Ted Cruz can convey this message. The time is right and so is the messenger.

What the hell are you talking about? The corker bill was all about giving the Iran deal Congressional backing. Why do you think the dems filibustered it and the rebubs act so relieved they do not have to vote for it directly? I'm sorry, I don't mean to be rude, I really am trying to take you seriously. But please just do a simple google search of the bill before you post to me.

Congress has not approved the Iran deal. The Dems filibustered it to keep it from being directly voted down.

If you don’t mean to be rude, you missed that goal a long time ago. The problem is that you take yourself too seriously, especially since you often misstate the facts.

I'm sorry, I don't want to be rude and I do fall short frequently. Please let me know what facts I missed.

Do you understand that because of the corker bill, the Iran deal passes automatically with Congressional backing unless Congress directly votes it down?
