A handful of Donald Trump's supporters played right into the hands of Black Lives Matter when they roughed up one of their members who was heckling Trump at a rally in Birmingham, Alabama over the weekend. From the podium, Trump shouted to the heckler "get the hell out of here" and told security to "throw him out."
...Trump added fuel to the fire during an appearance on FOX News when he said, "Maybe he should have been roughed up because it was absolutely disgusting what he was doing." Trump also claimed the heckler, who has been identified as Mercutio Southall, was "looking for trouble."....
...
So what if Southall had turned up at a Cruz rally and began heckling? I can't see Cruz telling security to throw him out. Instead, Cruz would have invited Southall on stage and challenged him to a debate right then and there. Cruz would give Southall an opportunity to speak his peace and then Cruz would take his arguments apart. He would have taken a piece out of Black Lives Matter without so much as an angry word.
The bottom line is that Cruz would have taken the high road. Of course, such a thing would never happen with Trump. He knows no high roads, only the gutter. Since he cannot debate ideas, he insults people. Trump is the Don Rickles of American politics only without the humor.
Of course, Trump's supporters will defend him to the bitter end. But if one has to write about Republican presidential candidates and Black Lives Matter, I sure as hell would rather write about how Ted Cruz debated a member of Black Lives Matter than write about how a few of Donald Trump's supporters beat up a member of Black Lives Matter with Trump egging them on.

Isra copy-pasted some graphs from a site that Mark Levin manages. He called Mark Levin a liar.
I don’t understand the yellow dot though. It should be green. Cruz knows more about the free market than just about any business leader anywhere. Holdonnow should do a little more homework.
Cruz would debate him? C'mon. If Cruz wants to set up a debate and invite them, that would be the way to do it. But to let them take over a rally with their agenda? That's enabling bullies.
That is not the term I was thinking of but it gets the point across.
Trump actually showed some “balls” (something that 99.999% of all politicians don’t have) in throwing that bum out. Furthermore, if the attendees “man handled” the bum, it was the bums fault...not Trumps or members of the crowd.
Now, let’s see what would have happened if it were a black (whitey hating) crowd and someone said “white lives matter” at an Al Sharpton gathering. Yes, that’s right...the white protester would have been killed or seriously injured.
That’s the difference in mannered conservative crowds and animalistic liberal crowds.
Now, to Cruz: He would have replied to the protester and then things would have gone from bad to worse because the protester would have interrupted him all of the way through the presentation and had accomplished all he was there for...total interruption of the whole affair.
Trump prevented that and had the bum thrown out. GOOD FOR HIM!
I’ve seen a lot of people trying to engage in intelligent debate with the race mongrels, like BLM, but the hustlers don’t abide by the rules, as they want to filabuster and try to out-shout their opponents.
On the other hand, Trump just doesn’t tolerate their foolishness, and the best thing to do with the bully types is become a bully yourself, and nip it in the bud.
“Instead, Cruz would have invited Southall on stage and challenged him to a debate right then and there.”
He would’ve given the guy a microphone, therefore given this guy’s agenda credence? I doubt that.
What someone might have done or might have said is a ridiculous premise to write or post an article about.
Stick to facts about what people actually do and actually say.
Also, posting lies about what actually happened when there is video evidence proving the lie is something the left and media do.
Therefore, anything else you have to say about this is tainted and not worthy of consideration.
Maybe Cruz just has Low-T?
Great post, great resources. Thanks!
Trump shouted to the heckler “get the hell out of here” and told security to “throw him out.”
He handled it perfectly, numbnuts.
You're welcome!
As mentioned in a related thread concerning the issues graphic with the green, red and yellow dots, the problem is this. The states have never delegated to the feds, expressly via the Constitution, the specific power to address several of the issues that Mr. Levin has identified (civil liberties, education, environment, healthcare, etc.) So I am not sure where Mr. Levin is coming from with his comparison of the candidates on those 10th Amendment-protect state power issues.
There was a great video of some actress attempting to heckle Cruz at a BBQ. Cruz calmly and methodically took her argument apart, remaining polite and smiling the whole time. The reaction threw her off her game plan so thoroughly, she was left quietly muttering to herself as she skulked away.
Perfect comparison!
Unions are the original American political thugs.
Thuggery is a tactic used by communists and fascists the world over to come to power.
The NAZI brownshirts perfected the use of thuggery to bring me party to power.
As a Cruz supporter I say Trump absolutely did the right thing.
Yes, CRUZ shared a stage with Code Pink and ate their lunch.
But Code Pink is a bunch of semi civil disruptors who can actually be debated.
You notice they haven’t tried their disruption tactics with Cruz since.
The BLM crowd is of the mold of the NAZI brown shirts.
BLM is not there to debate, they are not there to change hearts and minds.
They are there to disrupt by whatever means necessary.
If their current tactics of shouting down their opponents starts to fail they will become more physical. Remember the news accounts of black groups disrupting people’s lunches at restaurants? It got them noticed, got them newsprint and air time.
With their chief enabler residing in the white house do not look for them to act civil.
They will double down until the political rallies and events begin to resemble riots.
It Is Who They Are.
I hope it doesn’t come to that but with Obama in the white house anything is possible
Sounds like you hate Southerners more than you hate blm.
Your bigotry is appalling.
You reflect badly on a great decent man like Cruz.
Cruz probably would have allowed him on stage - let him speak his piece and then debate him - all to dazzle everyone with his genius./s People don’t attend these rallies to hear from BLM. The campaigns pay for these venues - and if they can’t behave - then throw them out.
Gotta disagree. I think Trump clearly has the intellectual tools to which you refer.
But maybe more importantly for a demagogue, he also has the tools of a "reality TV" superstar, meaning that he knows what will sell best with his audience -- many members of which no doubt fervently enjoy the entertainment pablum provided by The Apprentice, Survivor and similarly execrable TV fiction.
In other words, telling the guy to "shut up" may have been simply a viable political equivalent to Trump's "you're fired" shtick.
