Christ, our example of how to live, quoted the Torah on many different occasions. He lived by it. He taught it. His followers should not ignore it.

News at 1pm on WMAL (Washington DC) led with “teen arrested” in this case. Media will bury this now that the husband can’t be implicated, not to mention the race angle.

That was the reason God instilled and ordained Government. To wit} To protect the innocent and to punish the guilty.

You are quoting from Genesis
That is part of the Jewish Torah.
Christians should be guided by the New Testament.

You are confusing personal vs governmental responsibility.

"For there is no authority except from God, and the authorities that exist are appointed by God. . . be afraid; for he does not bear the sword in vain; for he is God’s minister, an avenger to execute wrath on him who practices evil." Rom 13

The Roman sword was used for spankings.

They are going to announce charges 2pm EST. Apparently, Jalen is going to face murder charges along with Larry. So that likely means third guy is the one that rolled.

Even if Jalen didn’t know that Larry had tried to kill the wife before they took off he would still be on the hook for the murder.

You are better than me. I cannot forgive transgressions that are openly a coordinated effort on behalf of satanists. I will forgive the local thief and adulterer but I have become hardened to crimes of mass murder.

Christ, our example of how to live, quoted the Torah on many different occasions. He lived by it. He taught it. His followers should not ignore it.

He also contradicted Jewish Sctipture, and when it came to the Jews version of Justice, HE substituted another form of behavior in the New Testament.

Leviticus 24:19: "If a man injures his neighbor, just as he has done, so it shall be done to him: 20. fracture for fracture, eye for eye, tooth for tooth; just as he has injured a man, so it shall be inflicted on him.

New Testament- Matt 5:38:
"You have heard that it was said, `An eye for an eye, and a tooth for a tooth.' 39. But I tell you, don't resist him who is evil; but whoever strikes you on your right cheek, turn to him the other also.

It is that Christian approach to Islam that concerns me. As Christians have found it fatal to them for the last 1400 years.

Don't forget Islam came about 600 years after Christianity was established, and Muhammed knew how to frame the Muslim religion to take advantage of Christian doctrine and thinking. - Tom

We used to have a saying for situations like this: “Some people just need to be at room temperature.” Forgiveness? Not hardly; that’s between you and God.

What helped the police to catch Watson is that he was one of those dumb ass criminals who leaves his DNA on evidence. He covered his face with a pink sweater to use the ATM and then left it for police to find.

Reminds me of the infamous Antoine Dodson video talking about the stupidity of the rapist.

We are to be “harmless as doves and wise as serpents!” We only have two cheeks! A serpent knows to get out of the way as much as possible but only at last resort will a serpent strike, the harmless part come in in that any venom used is tempered by the Holy Spirit!

Christ also said to his disciples”after I’m gone, sell your cloaks and buy swords” Indeed...the disciples had two swords in their possession already...now why was that? Hmmmmmmmmmm! I’ve never heard any sermon or homilies explaining why the “non violent disciples” were carrying swords (or even why one of the disciples was allowed to be in a position of being able to draw a sword to cut off the ear of one of Christ’s “arresting officials”.)

There is a time for self defense and there are times to eschew violence even unto death for the sake of Christ. Stephen the martyr knew the difference and chose to bite by means of the power of the word of God!

I’m perfectly capable of responding with love rather than hate. The loving response is to lock these thugs up for as little time and then execute them. What could be a more loving response to all the potential future victims who will be safer once these evil people are dead? I don’t want these rapist murders to suffer. I just want zero risk of escape, mistaken release, or future crimes in prison.
