Trump retakes Iowa lead, poll shows (Carson wants to hit Trump on head with mother' hammer)

Donald Trump has retaken his lead atop the GOP presidential field in Iowa, according to a new poll released Sunday on CBS's "Face the Nation."

Trump is polling at 30 percent in the all-important early voting state, and enjoys a 9-percentage-point lead over rival Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas), in the CBS News 2016 "Battleground Tracker."

The results come several weeks after the same poll found Trump tied at 27 percent with retired neurosurgeon Ben Carson. Carson has dropped to 19 percent in the new poll.

Cruz picked up some of Carson's lost support. His 21 percent in the latest poll is a 9-percentage-point boost from that late October poll, which showed Trump and Carson in a dead heat.

According to CBS, Cruz took some key voting groups away from Carson, including evangelicals, Tea Party supporters and older voters.

Addition of spurious titles and issues lowers one’s level to those in the mainstream media. It’s OK to have a comment, but I find it troubling when words are put into the mouths of others.

The county had enough of the Bushes for a long time to come. Iraq war was the biggest foreign policy blunder since Vietnam war. Deposing the dictators in Muslim countries is a stupid policy, as history proves. Now we have nothing but chaos and trouble everywhere.

And, Jeb Bush is another open borders candidate. Only Trump is using the words “deport ALL illegals”. All others are in pockets of rich donors pushing the cheap labor express. The vast middle class is finally showing signs of waking up.

It's just Cruz's turn to be flavor of the week. So I'm sure he will be "surging" for a bit. The msm and GOPe keep trying to promote someone/anyone over Trump, when it fails they move on to the next one. But you know they are desperate when they are so close to the end of the list they are willing to consider Cruz, they have always hated his ties to the Tea Party. But on the other hand, Cruz has shown himself to be willing to work with the establishment on things like TPA, Iran deal and amnesty.
