A firefighter who was allowed to graduate the Fire Academy despite failing physical tests has already gone out on medical leave — just 10 days into the job, The Post has learned.
Probationary firefighter Choeurlyne Doirin-Holder injured herself Monday while conducting a routine check of equipment at Queens’ Engine 308 in South Richmond Hill. Getting off the truck, Doirin-Holder missed a step and landed on her left foot, suffering a fracture, sources said.
It was her second shift after a transfer from Engine 301. In training for a hazmat assignment, officers found her struggling to perform the required tasks.

Oh please; that remark borders on downright rudeness. They didn't understand the ramifications because they didn't expect to live long enough for anything they did to make a difference. In the event many of them did live long enough for it to make a difference, and many wished they had taken better care of themselves.

So I suspect they will do what our crews did when the FD admin handed us an unqualified noob, and three would just do the work of four...In every job there are worthless individuals taking up space and standing idle while others carry the load for them...Poseurs...Nobody likes it, but there it is...
No amount of negative fitness reports or write ups will change anything that’s politically/racially motivated and the seasoned firefighters know that...So...They’ll just s&%t around it...
When you have racial quotas the political bosses are pressuring you to fill, and candidate after candidate fails the most basic background for criminal record or drug use, nevermind IQ, you resort to taking whatever you can get...
Even if the physical standards must be fudged or even thrown out the window...Easy enough to fix, you just have one politically reliable officer conduct a closed super-secret Saturday fitness test, and Viola!, miracle of miracles, she passed! Seen it happen...
A female, let alone a BLACK female, is a plum hire, too choice to pass up...And they’ll prop her up if it takes a whole bunk of 2x4s and a keg of 16s to do it...

General stereotypes are often wrong which is why people get so upset, however personal stereotypes are off the charts predictive. Someone that purposely injures themselves at work will be trying the same stunt for the next 20 years until they hit the jackpot.
Based on my understanding, a Morton's neuroma is a thickening of the tissue in the nerve that runs between the metatarsal bones, in response to continual irritation. It gets inflamed and causes pretty significant pain, very similar to a stress fracture. Neuropathy is an actual degeneration of the nerve tissue, frequently caused by diabetes. See your doctor if you suspect you have either. While you're at it, ask him, or her, or it, if Valtrex is right for you! :-)
Maybe she should have thought, during one of her trips through the academy, that the good Lord meant for her to stay an EMT.
There could be women who could handle it, but I’m not sure if those hulks are even interested.
That guy should hang his head in shame, but I doubt that he has even a smidgen of that.
