Donald Trump unloaded on Karl Rove, then said he could 'make up' with the GOP establishment
Business Insider ^ | 11/11/15 | BRETT LOGIURATO

Donald Trump didn't hold back on Karl Rove.

In the span of 15 minutes, the Republican presidential front-runner referred to Rove as a "total moron" - adding that "you can print that if you want" - and compared him to someone who has worse aim than someone randomly throwing darts.

"A guy like Karl Rove, Karl Rove is Republican establishment. He spent last cycle, $US430 million, and lost every single race," Trump said in an interview with Business Insider last week.

"And I saw the commercials and the things that he was making, they're the worst I've ever seen. I thought they were made by the Democrats. So you have morons - but they have morons like Karl Rove. Look at what happened with [Jeb] Bush. Look at what happened."

-snip-

But Trump also suggested in his interview with Business Insider that if he did, in fact, win the nomination, it would be possible to "make up" with the GOP establishment.

"Maybe. Maybe I will. I can do that too. I can make up with the establishment," Trump said. "Look, the establishment doesn't want me, because I don't need the establishment."

Can we just dispense with this campaign nonsense and inaugurate Trump today?

Sure, why not? After all, you know all about Trump -- everybody knows who Trump is, a brilliant billionaire who has accomplished so much! Why, the man is worth $3.9 BILLION!! He's a genius, a get-it-done kinda guy!!

By the way -- how many here off the tops of their head know who Larry Ellison, Sheldon Adelson,Len Blavatnik, and Donald Bren are? Are their names anywhere close to being household words? WHY NOT?

Without googling, just off the top your head -- Bueller? Bueller? WHY have you never heard of these guys but you heard of Trump LONG before he was ever running for President?

I happen to know who Donald Bren is because I live in his neck of the woods. He is worth $15.5 BILLION, nearly five times more than Donald Trump.

Donald Bren is exactly comparable to Trump in that he was born into a wealthy family, yet earned his money as a great developer and investor -- a genuine real estate "mogul," making Trump look kinda paltry in comparison, quite honestly.

The ONLY REASON Trump's name is a household word in America isn't because he such a brilliant businessman or politician. His name is a household word because he created and cultivate a very specific BRAND IMAGE for himself over the course of about 10 years, a smartly executed advertising/promotional campaign, and a hit TV reality show. His "brand image" is brilliant brassy billionaire genius.

In fact, his success in business is a tiny fraction of EVERY OTHER NAME listed above. And that list is a very small one of all the brilliant businessmen billionaires you've never heard of but who are worth considerably more than Trump because they are BETTER at what they do than Trump, at least when it comes to business. What they aren't are self-promoters and celebrities.

Wake up.

Without Trump, Jethro Bush would already be the nominee.

Cruz is who I really want, but without Trump he would not be on the radar.

Without Trump, Obola would be bringing in Islamic terrorists by the tens of thousands.

I believe Trump and Cruz are a tag-team.

Rove and Fox better get used to the idea that Trump has changed things. Even if Trump were taken out—the old GOPe is as gone as Humpty Dumpty. The wall is coming—If Trump was gone Ted Cruz would take up his banner—and he would select Trump’s son as his VP. The old RINO Party is gone.

If Trump is taken out, this is all over.

Yes, Cruz would step in and carry on the best he could, but Cruz’s political life span would be measured in months at the most, much more likely weeks or even days.

If Trump is gone, ALL the rules change, and they won’t revert back to they way it was.

New draconian rules will be the law of GOPe land, and another Donald Trump will never ever have a chance to darken the political doorway again.

It’s Trump or nothing.

I agree. I like Cruz very much, but I switched over to Trump as my #1. Trump has charisma and can get people out of their homes and into the voting booths. That counts for a lot.

Cruz? I'm sorry, but the charisma is not there to the same degree. Cruz will get real Conservatives out of their homes and into the voting booths. But you need more than that. I believe Cruz would lose in the general election.

Trump/Cruz is a winning ticket. Cruz by himself, in my opinion, gets us a Democrat winner.

I’ll say maybe Cruz gets Iowa and Texas. Trump runs the rest of the table.

Trump will cover the most ground the fastest in Iowa in the run up to the caucus with his Air Force of 2 jets and 3 helicopters at his disposal. The others are all big underdogs.

So, because there are richer people than Trump, he shouldn’t run? That’s not even a strawman argument. That’s a blowin’ smoke argument.
