Donald Trump has re-established his commanding lead of the Republican presidential race in a new Washington Post/ABC News poll.
If anything, the poll shows that Trump's surge seems to be strong and possibly getting stronger. As the Post points out, the poll comes after a "tumultuous period that has included terrorist attacks in Paris, calls for stepped-up efforts to combat Islamic State militants, a backlash against accepting refugees from Syria, and two Republican debates..."
Trump leads the field with 32 percent support among registered Republicans and Republican-leaning independents. Running second is retired neurosurgeon Ben Carson at 22 percent. Both figures are identical to last month.

I want the top 5 and no more in the next debate.
Trump will lock this up with a “surprise” win in Iowa. After which the pieces fall into place.
Latest headline is ISIS plans to do a smackdown at a WWE event today.
Sometimes you have to poke a stick at the hornets nets.
If not they keep on building it bigger.
See you at the top President Trump!

...and the GOPeahens will go mental and endorse The Thy-Roid.
Make that the Thigh-Roid...
Amen.
The hard-to-convince Evangelicals are solidly behind Trump. An evangelical pastor on BOR related that his evangelical congregation rose up en masse to applaud Trump's comment: "I'll bomb the crap out of the Muslims." Another 200,000 downloaded the pastor's remarks on Trump.

Cruz likes to ballyhoo his Christian bona fides....says he's got an evangelical army on his side.

Bible-believers in the pews indicate otherwise.
It’s possible Trump will win Iowa...if he does, it over.
A new poll out in Iowa shows Trump at 30% Cruz 21% & Carson 19%. Cruz is in a pretty good shape in Iowa...but in the national polls he is stuck in single digits.

If Cruz finishes in second in Iowa he will catapult to prominence and the dynamics of the race will change. Don’t forget that Walker held a commanding lead at one time.
I had not seen this new poll for Iowa. Wow!
It seems that the harder they come after Trump, the stronger he gets.
He is also showing us what he is made of. As president he will hit just as hard. The other candidates are choking on political correctness and they are all sinking because of it.
I respectively disagree. If Trump wins Iowa...it’s over. If Cruz wins Iowa or comes in second it means nothing, because he is stuck (in most polls) in single digits nationally.
I think Trump thinks he has a good chance to win Iowa and run the table but even if he doesn’t he will run the rest of the table and get the nomination.
The MSM thinks they have Trump on the ropes with this dummied up Muslim database story but truth be told right now probably half of the country is in favor of a database legal or not.

For two reasons. #1 is that conservatives who like him think he can’t win in the general election. #2 is that a lot of Republicans STILL don’t know him outside of the media caricature.
If he finishes #1 or #2 he becomes a potential *winner* and people will begin to listen to him.
The real big deal here is that Trump knows media like no other candidate and when they attack him he will know how to turn it around and turn it into a net positive.
Watching Trump twirl the media around his finger is like watching martial arts where the black belt knows how to use the opponents aggression against him to neutralize him.
That is what Trump understands about the media. He just knows how to dominate them and crush them.
I agree. Trump is always 2-3 steps ahead of the media and they just can’t figure it out.
Republicans want a strong, non-establishment, non pc president.
Trump fills the bill.
Cruz may win Iowa, but if Trump wins...it’s over. He will run the tables & sew up the nomination.
