Why Breitbart Website Is Fundraising For Ted Cruz…
The Conservative Tree House ^ | Nov 22, 2015 | Sundance

Posted on 11/22/2015 4:21:52 AM PST by free_life

This is apparently one of those things that is an open, and yet non-discussed, secret.

Several people have queried why they would be getting Ted Cruz campaign donation requests/solicitation directly from Breitbart, and/or getting donation requests from Ted Cruz on Breitbart letterhead.

The answer is simple, yet perhaps like me you never knew.

The Breitbart Media Group is financially backed and funded by Hedge-fund billionaire Robert Mercer. Mercer was/is the originating financial backer for the Ted Cruz "Keep the Promise" (KtP 1, KtP2 and KtP3) Super-PACs. Mercer is also the financial backing behind Cambridge Analytica.

Cambridge Analytica is the receiver of the contact information provided to Breitbart when you participate in their on-line Presidential Poll.

In essence, when you participate the Breitbart poll, you are sending your personal information into a data-base controlled by the proprietary interests of Robert Mercer, Cambridge Analytica. The Ted Cruz campaign then uses the data collected to fund-raise on behalf of the Campaign.

Perhaps I'm the last person to discover that Breitbart is essentially a political operation of the Cruz campaign, but this is akin to realizing the Clinton Global Initiative is the financial underwriter for the New York Times.

While all the dots have never been fully assembled, the facts around relationship have been discussed in various articles, yet never connected:

~ Politico outlines the Robert Mercer financial underwriting/ownership of Breitbart HERE

~ Christian Science Monitor article showing how much Mercer is invested in Ted Cruz HERE The New York Times goes into greater detail HERE

~ Politico July article outlining Robert Mercer's financial underwriting of Cambridge Analytica to collect: "psychographic" analyses of voters to try to win them over with narrowly targeted micro-messages" HERE

~ FEC distribution showing Ted Cruz Leadership PAC - Pre-Presidential Bid – Paying Cambridge Analytica HERE

It would appear the entire reason for Breitbart.Com to put their Presidential Preference Poll together was to gather information on visitors for later distribution to the Ted Cruz campaign, with the expressed intention of micro-targeting those participating visitors.

Knowing all of this, it certainly makes sense now why so many people have noted that Breitbart goes to extraordinary lengths to avoid any critical mentions of their candidate, Ted Cruz.

After all, this unique and unconventional relationship means Breitbart Media has a vested financial interest in Ted Cruz's candidacy, and a profound conflict of interest for any political editorial surrounding the ongoing 2016 Presidential Primary.

Sunlight is the best disinfectant, and now you know ...

I thought the same thing when I read that Sundance has a religion problem up thread. He sure presents God a lot and put prayers up a lot on CTH. He smells like a believer to me.

Thanks! :)

Yea the supposed conservative side is just about as deceptive as the left these days. They are all, just about all selling some brand of snake oil. I like Trump’s plain talk.

With so many Christian books they ignore simple bible truth to sell some big new teaching that becomes like the latest fad. I would be reading some writer I liked before and kept finding myself saying the bible doesn’t say what he just claimed it said. The bible never disappoints and gives all the understanding we need.

"Cruz voted against TPA"

Not when it counted! He also wrote and op-ed with Paul Ryan calling for the Senate to pass TPA

Sen. Ted Cruz, R-Texas, and Rep. Paul Ryan, R-Wis., penned a joint op-ed for the Wall Street Journal Wednesday calling on Congress to pass Trade Promotion Authority legislation. The two conservative lawmakers argue that the legislation, also known as "Fast Track," is urgently needed to strengthen the U.S.'s ability to negotiate future trade deals.

"Cruz voted for the USA Freedom Act, which did away with the unfettered gathering of data. Rubio is the one who voted for the Patriot Act.

Ted Cruz who voted to reauthorize the Patriot Act jabs Rand Paul over the NSA

‘I would bet a pretty decent amount of cash that this site is a front for a particular campaign. I outlined the reasons in another post.....’

Do you have one scrap of evidence? How about at least citing the date TCT started. If you have no idea how long the site’s been around, your post is merely hateful ignorance.

I understand Cruz's initial support for a TPA bill that would extend that authority for 5 years to the next President. I understand Cruz's support of Free Trade since his state has over 5 million jobs that rely on exports.

Cruz voted against the TPA bill that went to the Presidents desk, a bill that passed with 67 votes without him.

Ted Cruz voted for the USA Freedom Act, period. Cruz Calls for Immediate Passage of USA Freedom Act>

Well I see your name as a poster over at the Treehouse site. I assume you don’t include yourself as one of those “looney bin” commenters?
You seem to have a real problem with Sundance and his or her site. So you then insult the commenters.
You also should have disclosed that you write for Breitbart.

He gonna have some ‘splainin to do, as to how TCT could be a front for Trump, when/if he learns how long the site has been around.

The time to kill TPA was when it first went to the Senate. There was serious opposition to TPA from Democrats. Cruz had over 200,000 yes 200,000+ negitive comments posted to his various facebook pages 99.9% reaming him over his TPA vote. After getting the you know what kicked out of him Cruz found an reason (excuse) to vote against TPA but it passed anyway with 60 votes for cloture and 61 for passage. Not 67.

I was raised as a Seventh Day Adventist and sent to church schools. At 16 (a junior) I walked out, said my Bible doesn’t say that. Jump forward another 15+ years, now a Southern Baptist.

One Sunday morning in the middle of a sermon, I took my son’s hand, got up and started out. My ex-husband, being a very smart man, got up and came with me. He asked me once we were outside what was up. I said, my Bible doesn’t say that.

It’s very difficult for man to accept a God that can do or be anything. Everyone has to put Him in a box, framed in by what they want Him to be. They ignore or twist what He has said so that it supports their belief.

Wait a minute... so you WRITE for Breitbart? That does explain your rabid support for Cruz, your apologia for Breitbart, your mindless ad-hom against a random blog, and your Trump bashing on this site!

You don't have a clue how things work. Allow me a little inside education: First, they overwhelmingly pro Trump - over anyone else....from articles to their commenters - so that point you made has the audience giggling at you. Second, I write what I write, I do not write what they "assign" to me.....because they do NOT assign. There is a pretty good diversity of opinion among their staff. They publish about 90% of what I submit to them. Third, my pro Cruz stance has zip zero nada to do with my relationship with Breitbart, or American Thinker, or my publisher, or Newsmax, or Talk Radio Network - or any of the many other places my work is found. NONE of these outlets assign me, or anyone else, a "stance." I write what I write, and they publish it, or sometimes, not.

And fourth, and I repeat it again so you'll maybe get it this time....I don't bash Trump, but I do bash some of his supporters' and the manner in which they slavishly support him. I in fact support Trump over everybody but Cruz. And of course over every Democrat.

And moreover, I wrote positively about Trump in April of 2011---his fearless style, his take no prisoner approach, his disdain for PC - so I was actually way ahead of you in that regard. I also warned back then, as I would warn now, of his liberal reflexes, which I submit are still present. AGain....way way way ahead of the curve.....

I didn’t think they were posting my comments....glad to know they are.

I have disclosed many times who I write for and what books I have written, and usually people like you complain that I’m pimping myself. And dear Lord, I simply don’t understand why some people cannot understand that these websites DO NOT ASSIGN articles or stances. I never get any guidance, let alone orders, from them or American Thinker or Newmax TV or Talk Radio Network or Fox and Friends....I say what I say, period. Not since college have I written an “assignment” from anyone else. These outlets publish me because they like what I have to say, or at least think it’s important if they don’t like it - but they do NOT control it at all - unless it’s to refuse to publish - a right they have with all contributors.

Let me help you out here.....I said I would bet a pretty decent amount of money that this was the case. I never said I had proof or even KNEW it. It was a hunch.

Google hunch, and see what it means.

Dude, chill, I never lied about anything...I have a theory....you know, a theory. Do you know what a theory is?

It’s not a definitive statement. I never couched it as such. Your over sensitivity to this indicates a nerve has been struck.

Actually, no I won't. I'll simply say my hunch was wrong. Now I know you're perfect and never had a missed hunch, but you'll have to excuse the rest of us mortals who might miss a hunch from time to time.

Oh, I would add....that how they started and what they are NOW are NOT necessarily the same thing........

First, they overwhelmingly pro Trump - over anyone else....from articles to their commenters

And you also claimed the blog "came out of nowhere" and that all of this provided evidence that the blog is secretly controlled by the Trump campaign, a pretty hefty and pompous charge. Meanwhile, you're literally drawing a paycheck from Breitbart, and even a brief look at your posting history has you being incredibly nasty about Trump or Trump's supporters on this website, despite whatever you claim.

Maybe what we have here is a case of Projection?

Dude, chill, I never lied about anything...I have a theory.

But how can you have a theory when you clearly demonstrated that you have no clue as to the history of the blog? A theory implies you've looked into something. Obviously, we know that isn't true. Ergo, you are a liar, making up random stuff about a blog you probably just now encountered for the first time in your life.

The hell is Breitbart doing publishing idiots like you? Is this what passes as a professional writer, someone with journalistic bonafides, with research skills at the very least? Why would you claim the blog "came out of nowhere," basically claiming that the blog was founded sometime this year by the Trump campaign?

Concurring bump...failure to know that site's history also exposes CEW's own establishment roots which (I have a hunch) have been carefully camouflaged.

It was a smear, pure and simple. You impugned a conservative site of long standing simply bc your Trump hatred precludes you from seeking or even caring about facts and evidence.

Your so-called hunches aren’t worth the time it takes to post them.
