Go Cruz! 97% Liberty Score @ https://www.conservativereview.com/scorecard
Cruz’s bill is DOA. The new “speaker” has already joined Obama in threatening to veto any such legislation. Ryan probably won’t bring it to House for a vote, a la Harry Reid tactics.
Ryan was a baaaaaadddddddd choice for speaker, he’s Obama-lite.
Trump's Record on Free-market Issue: (from the Conservative Review)
Trump has a terrible record on free market issues. The only bright spot is the Federal Reserve's quantitative easing, but this glimmer is countermanded by his repeated support for bailing out Wall Street and the auto industry, and increased stimulus spending. Of particular concern is Trump's belief that the government can use eminent domain powers to seize private property in the name of private economic development. This comes as no surprise, given his support for using eminent domain to profit his own company.
Trump supported the Supreme Court’s 2005 decision in Kelo v. City of London, allowing public authorities to seize private land for economic development by private investors; Trump said, “I happen to agree with [the decision] 100 percent.” (National Review) This is no surprise given Trump’s attempt to use eminent domain in his own line of work. (Institute for Justice)
Trump supported President Obama’s 2009 stimulus, saying: “The word stimulus is probably not used in its fullest…you know, certain of the things that were given weren't really stimulus. They were pork, as we call it, or they were gifts to certain people. But overall, I think he's [President Obama] doing very well. You do need stimulus and you do have to keep the banks alive.” (CNN)
Trump supported TARP, saying, "You had to do something to shore up the banks, because ... you would have had a run on every bank." (CNN)
Trump supported the 2008 auto bailout, saying, “I think the government should stand behind them 100 percent. You cannot lose the auto companies. They’re great. They make wonderful products.” He also said that the federal government could “easily save the companies.” (Daily Caller)
Trump criticized the Federal Reserve’s intervention in the debt market, saying quantitative easing creates “phony numbers” that mislead the marketplace and “will not ultimately benefit the economy. The dollar will go down in value and inflation will start rearing its ugly head.” (CNBC)
Donald Trump has a history of using eminent domain to complete business deals. Multiple times Trump has supported the use of government agencies to take possession of homes and businesses for use in his private business plans. Eminent domain seizures are reserved only for public use of property rather than abuse by the government taking property from one individual and giving to another. (Washington Post)
Donald Trump has sought and received crony capitalist tax breaks for his commercial properties in New York. These tax breaks, and even an abatement, force the property taxes of other property owners to rise at the expense of the connected. Special treatment for one business or industry over another with the tax code conflicts with free market principles. (National Review)
In 2009, Trump supported Barack Obama's call for limits on the pay of executives. (CNN)
How about a bill where ALL Muslims are barred from entering the US?
“The new âspeakerâ has already joined Obama in threatening to veto any such legislation. Ryan probably wonât bring it to House for a vote, a la Harry Reid tactics.”
Cruz’s bill is in the Senate, not the House.
anyone remember the German family that came to the USA for the freedom to homeschool their children—Obummer deported them ssying that their reason was not good enough. The family begged to stay here, and the father had a good. productive job . But who cares, they were Christians,
Seriously, how do you make your candidate look good when you troll threads?
The ultimate goal should be to deem Islam as being a political movement under the guise of religion...which is what it really is.
I suggest we do what they did with the refugees in 1944 at Fort Ontario, NY. I think Trump suggested something similar.
Good question........ How do you do that?
You come in here and you post something that has completely nothing to do with the topic on hand. Does Cruz live in your head rent free?
I didn’t think it possible, but the ‘Trumpetters’ have less class and tack than the Ron Paul people had.
Reckon I could charge him a fee?
Thank you for referencing that article Isara. Please bear in mind that the following critique is directed at the article and not at you.
Noting that lawless Obama would probably be trying to stop terrorists unilaterally from Congress anyway if it served his Muslim agenda, please consider the following.
To be blunt, since patriots have had three election cycles to exercise their 17th Amendment power to elect the 2/3 Senate supermajority required to overturn a presidential veto but have falied to do so, a 2/3 vote of the House also required, is there any hope for Cruzs terrorist bill with respect to a predictable lawless Obama veto?
I hope that Obama proves me wrong and signs the bill into law if it ever gets to his desk.
With all due respect to Sen. Cruz, his action seems like a pre-election year stunt intended to win the approval of low-information patriots.
Donald Trump is a distant second choice for me, but some of his supporters are really starting to turn me off to his candidacy. Some of them show absolutely no class, add nothing to the conversation and don’t let us question Trump’s liberal past.
How about a bill where ALL Muslims are barred from entering the US?That's basically what his go nowhere, try to make himself look good bill does.
The truth is it shows his hypocrisy and inability to think before he speaks. In this case, about "religious liberty" for the past week.
Now he wants to play god and pick and choose who gets religious liberty, who doesn't AND from where.
He's also ignorant to what it would take in manpower and resources to accomplish (something he knows nothing about) his goal.
Never mind the fact that after all his lack of diplomacy with the name calling etc. he knows, or should know by now that he, and anything he proposes is laughed at and DOA.
Sounds like the very definition of a ‘Paulist’.
