The journey comes with challenges big and small. Nabeel Hasan had to change his name, after officials spelled his name wrong on immigration documents.
âIt was double âsâ but when they put it in the I-94, they put in one âsâ. When I get the ID it must be the same,â he says.
His three sons couldnât join him today and remain in Iraq. With tensions high, he fears the worst. But he hopes one day theyâll join him in America. âThis is my wish. Every day I ask God about that,â said Hasan. âWe thank God and the United States to be here and safe.â
The meal was sponsored by Interfaith Action of Central Texas, one of several non-profits who help refugees begin their new life. Once a refugee arrives in this country, non-profits do the heavy-lifting to get them settled.
We checked and the Federal government only provides an apartment for 90 days and healthcare for 180 days. Beyond that, it just offers grants for non-profits to help with English programs.

One of those widows & 3 year olds 0bama was talking about.
Now come the personal stories, the ones to tug at American’s heartstrings.
I wonder if they’ve interviewed families of Christians in Syria who have been forced to their knees then beheaded. Have the talked to Christians fighting for their lives in the Mideast, who have watched their friends and families crucified, drowned in cages, molested and dismembered?
Nah, there’s no story there. Better to interview a Syrian refugee who got in.
Why not just invite all 1.6 billion moslems to live here in America so they can screw it up like their home countries?
You just can’t cure stupid.
They are lying. It’s what mooselims do when they’re not blowing things and people up.
Now come the personal stories, the ones to tug at Americanâs heartstrings.

Doesn’t touch my heartstrings at all.
I’m sick of supporting these invaders.
I’m sure you’ve noticed that the media will include, even emphasize, entreaties to God and mentions of religion when they involved the Death Cult.
Stories about Christmas? Zilch.
I believe you are right, the push is on for the ‘personal’ stories.
Doesn’t move me one bit!
Question for all refugees: Do you thank God? Or do you thank Allah?
Abbott said “no refugees.” There they are.
I have some Syrian Christian neighbors. They have been telling stores of the horror of this war for over five years. Some have family members still in Syria.
I don’t doubt that the majority of these people fled for their lives and are extremely grateful to be here.
That being said, we cannot take the risk of even a small number of dedicated ISIS infiltrators coming with them.
My Syrian Christian neighbors agree.
Obama doesn’t want a religious test because he knows no Christians made it very far. The Islamists in the camps, on the trains, in the boats have their own vetting process.
My daughter had a Syrian friend. Very pretty girl.
They’re super hot a split second after the detonator goes BOOM!
World Council of Churches affiliates no doubt.
After the events in Paris on 11/13, I will be adding
this to my posts for the next week. I'm certain our
turn is coming again soon. We stand united against
Islamic extremists.
Some music for reflection if the mood strikes you.

An honorable mention also goes out to Lassana Bathily , a Muslim immigrant from Mali.
Mr. Bathily sheltered customers at the Jewish Deli and helped police by providing info
on the terrorists, and providing the location of survivors in the deli.

She for sure is not in a muzzie country or she would be stoned for not covering herself, wearing make up, and tempting men.
The right attitude should be, let’s check this out.
I hate the sound bite nature of modern “news.” This is the equivalent of impressionistic art. It doesn’t give you data. It encourages you to emote in the dark.
OK, he has three sons. What happened to his wife? Why? Any daughters, and if so why not the same concern? What would he like to see done to push back against those who killed his wife, if that’s what happened?
Genuine good will is hard to fake, even in difficult circumstances.
I stopped into a Dollar General not too far from my house some weeks back. I asked an employee a question. The employee was Muslim with a headscarf. Trust me, the headscarf was the ONLY thing that told me she was Muslim. She had black jeans on some pretty generous (in a good way) hips and they were so tight I’d be surprised if she didn’t need a crowbar to get them on and off.
