During a press conference aired on Puerto Rican AM radio station WAPA, Puerto Rico Governor Alejandro Garcia Padilla expressed his support for the Obama administration's plan to accept Syrian "refugees" in the United States. Garcia, a Democrat, went as far as stating that the U.S. is being "timid" in planning to take in "only" 10,000.
Problem solved. They can all be put on Puerto Rico, with no ability to get off the island.
Puerto Rico ping
“El ay bendito” gone awry.
Local officials supporting 0's refugee plan in hope of getting federal money.
Sad. Sad. Sad.
He’ll say anything to get MONEY
If HE had accepted refugees ...
why ...
His island might tip over !
silly
Not only will PR get federal money, the Syrians will get easy access to the USA with zero oversight.
Every refugee comes with a generous check for govt services which PR really wants.
I think what he meant was, he supports Obama taking those refugees IN the United States. Puerto Rico is NOT A State. “Not in my neighborhood” might be the subtle inference here.
Well they do have plenty of room...most of the PR islanders are returning to the mainland. To be closer to their welfare....er...ah...families...yeah....that’s the ticket.
:-)
They will love the women there.
There ya go send them all to an Island. I love it.
At Island Rally, Ben Carson Says Puerto Rico Should Be 51st State
I see no reason why the refugees need money. Judging from the examples in Europe where they routinely discard items that aren’t up to their high standards (like water from the Red Cross - leaving out any pork-related issues), they obviously are self-funding.
As an added bonus, we can set up a special White Hut consulate and have Obammie spend all of his time there. I’m sure the one’s pen and phone work even that far away from Washington - and the people can save money on the heating bill in the actual White House.
Good send them all to the island of Puerto Rico. I like the idea of them being on an island.
Time to cut PR loose.
Won't the island tip over?
If Puerto Rico didn’t get enough of the armed PRNP rebels coming down from the mountain hideouts and attacking San Juan and other places several decades ago, just wait till they get airplanes full of Obama Syrian ISIS savages.
You must be referring to the revolt Puerto Rico was hit with in 1950 when members of the Nationalist Party conducted coordinated armed attacks on certain targets in the island, including the Governor’s Mansion. Then-Governor Luis Munoz Marin forcefully put down that revolt and then went after the party leadership, something Puerto Rico’s independence supporters must have never forgiven him for.
Garcia is no Munoz.
