A Denver-area store called Isis Books & Gifts wants the world to know its name comes from the Egyptian goddess of healing and motherhood, and it isn't a retail store run by terrorists.

Smells like B.S. to me.
Loved it when it was in boxes.
Now that ISIS was NOT GUILTY!
They don’t worship Isis anymore than Thor’s Comic Books worship Thor.
Speaking of ignorance - reading the story would have divulged that the store has been around since 1980.......way before the terror group stole its name.
Now for a short public service announcement to all on FR:
I prefer Cruz and my money goes to his campaign, hence the Cruz link. If you like someone else, donate to him/her (find your own link to do it) and if you use FR and don't donate, then please don't complain about the welfare leeches or those who have Obama Phones because, functionally, you are no different than any other FReeloader
PS - If you are one of those who cannot afford even a small donation to FR or a candidate, God Bless and happy FReeping!.....
GO CRUZ!! Keep it up Trump!!
That should have been in the title. “Book store around since .....”
LOL! Perhaps someday the nanny state government will get big enough to ensure that happens so nobody ever makes the same mistake again.
First you say they should have thought more about the name, then this....
I know someone else who thinks that every mistake they make is caused by someone else - in fact I know two folks (hint: one is in the WH and the other wants to be the first woman in the WH).
What I was referring to is the head of the article. Since you’re here you must know the amount of stories posted. Unless a story truly interests me I read the synopsis then open the article. In this case I saw the head with no mention of when the store opened and used that name. Thank you for your keen observation and attention to detail, I am humbled.
Due to having put my foot in the "ignorant of the story but have an opinion anyway" pot a time or two, I will usually keep my comments to 'witty quips" if I don't really want to read the story. If I want to express what someone should have done or make more salient comments, I try to ensure the facts won't negate my point of view.
If I screw it up - it's no big thing to say, "oops".
Now you can be humbled by my sagacity too......
I yield to your sagacity. I have plumbed the depths of my soul to ensure my idiocy would forever be expunged. I am now alone in my despair.
There - there. It's going to be OK.
Time for me to step off my high horse (It rocks) and look in the mirror so I can have a good laugh at myself.
Happy FReeping.
:)
