Donald Trump said Monday he is capable of turning on Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) in their competition for the GOPâs 2016 presidential nomination.
âIf he catches on, I guess weâll have to go to war,â he told host Joe Kernen on CNBCâs âSquawk Box.â âWeâll see what happens but so far we havenât,â Trump continued. "Heâs been very supportive [and] we have a lot of the same ideas.
âWell, heâs been very nice and supportive of everything Iâve said, more than anybody else.â

Oh sure, he’ll just bow out and give up since that’s what the polls say at that moment.
Sounds real Presidential!
Talk about decisive loyalty!
One side wants their person to be number 1, so does the other, but neither will admit being number 2 is still being the winner.
So it could be Cruz POTUS, Trump VP.
Or......
The other way....
One or the other, the only way it must be.
There is one simple reason Ted has the advantage against Dem style attacks. They can never say “You used to be on our side and then flipped.”
Thats just the truth. And you know they will bring that out hard. It ain’t gonna go away.
That would be a bad thing.
What could he “go to war” about? NOTHING.
Cruz has more sense than to say anything bad about Trump.
This is sad because Trump/Cruz combination would kick HilLIARy’s butt 70/30
I don’t honestly think Trump will go after Cruz in any substantial way unless Cruz is in the lead. .. And I like Cruz but don’t necessarily see that happening anytime soon. Maybe after a few primaries, but it is unlikely on both
“Candidates are not at war. “
Then they don’t want to win.
That is NOT what Trump said.

that’ll make things interesting at FreeRepublic.
Actually, when it gets to Trump and Cruz as the final two, they will have to go toe to toe. May the best man win.
+1
Well .. it could be that Trump just wants to test Cruz’s mettle .. and vice-versa.
If they “go to war” .. we may have the best debates possible .. showing that Repubs take the issues seriously.
I think they both can hold their own.
The only thing I’m concerned about is the name calling by Trump .. Cruz will not be happy with that at all.
Disagree. Trump’s intelligence is extremely high and on a much wider variety of subjects than Cruz. Cruz still has a lot to learn beyond his limited expertise, especially about so called FREE TRADE. He needs seasoning and can learn a lot under Trump.
By the way, we win either way. I love them both.
The last president that was “on the other side and flipped” won two monumental landslides.
“It’s bound to happen at some point, somewhere— coming to a theatre near you, Trump vs Cruz: the clash of the titans.” Rick Sanchez
Yeah, sure. :)
What do you expect? They’re both running for the same office.
At least I feel like I could vote for Trump, if I needed to.
But Ted Cruz is still my #1 choice by far.
I wasn’t aware Ron was running. Or that Trump was Reagan. Neither of which have anything to do with democrats doing what they do.
Sounds good, bring it on.
