BATON ROUGE -- Louisiana Governor Bobby Jindal has issued an executive order to prevent more Syrian refugees from entering into Louisiana. The Governor tweeted about it Monday morning.
"I just signed an Executive Order instructing state agencies to take all available steps to stop the relocation of Syrian refugees to LA." -- Gov. Bobby Jindal (@BobbyJindal) November 16, 2015
Texas Gov. Greg Abbott has ordered state health officials in charge of Texas' refugee resettlement program not to accept any more Syrians following the Paris terrorist attacks.
In a letter Monday to President Barack Obama, Abbott also urged scrapping federal plans to accept more Syrian refugees into the country as a whole. He said the federal government can't perform "proper security checks" on Syrians.
Texas joins Alabama, where Gov. Robert Bentley announced Sunday that he would refuse Syrian refugees relocating to his state.
In Michigan, fellow Republican Gov. Rick Synder is postponing efforts to accept Syrian refugees until federal officials review security procedures.
Mississippi Gov. Phil Bryant says he will "do everything humanly possible" to stop the federal government from putting any Syrian refugees in the state.

Makes sense. If Obama can issue executive orders to let terrorists in... ;-)
The Obama administration has previously announced plans to take in 10,000 Syrian refugees next year.
While addressing reporters on Monday, Obama called out Republican candidates who have objected to admitting refugees to the United States.
“When I hear a political leader suggesting that there should be a religious test for which a person who is fleeing from a war torn country is admitted⦠when some of those folks themselves come from families who benefited from protection when they were fleeing political persecution, that is shameful,â the President said. “We don’t have religious tests to our compassion.”
PUT THEM *ALL* IN CHICAGO..!
Someone else has a pen and a phone.
Why just Syria? It should be all Muslim countries.
A governor can do whatever s/he pleases, as long as s/he doesn’t care what a Federal judge says, and is willing to use state-run enforcement if necessary. Which is exactly how the President does it. Bring it on.
A lot of the “Syrians” are not really from Syria
Remember, the Boston Marathon bombers were refugees and supposedly had been vetted by our feckless government. An eight year old boy did not live to be nine because government bureaucrats are incapable of keeping enemies out of the country.
I’m happy about this.
I have a daughter living in downtown New Orleans.
Call out the NG.
Won’t matter much unless he is prepared to call out the National Guard to prevent this.
PUT THEM *ALL* IN CHICAGO..!
What I want to know is what are those “available steps?” None of these governors seem to be talking about how they plan to do this.
Just as I thought - the NGOs, the Lutheran and Baptist Charity services get big bucks to resettle the refugees and answer to no elected official - just the UN and the State Dept. We are no longer a sovereign nation when the will of the people can be ignored like this. And to you, our dear PINO, you have put the Christian refugees who have suffered real persecution at the bottom of the list.
All the Democrat Governors will do exactly what King Obama wants them to do.
Live by Executive Order die by Executive Order. :-)
About time to grow dome gonads.
