On November 12, CBS NEWS reported that âWhite House lawyersâ are examining gun laws to find an avenue where President Obama can use executive action to go around Congress and expand background checks to cover private gun sales.
Obama and the attorneys are trying to determine a threshold that private gun owners who sell and trade guns would cross in order to be treated like licensed gun dealers. Once they cross that thresholdâwhich NBC News reported might be â50 or 100 guns a yearââprivate citizens would be required to go through a licensed dealer and obtain a background check in order to sell a gun to a neighbor, co-worker, or parent. In other words, the private gun sales Americans have conducted since 1791 would be done away.
Guns Owners of Americaâs (GOA) executive director Larry Pratt recently talked to Breitbart News about this behind-the-scenes maneuver and said it is past time for GOP leaders in Congress to stand up in clear opposition to Obamaâs plans. He also suggested it may be time for law-abiding citizens to simply let it be known that they will not comply, much like citizens in Washington state did after Michael Bloomberg and other one-percenters doled over millions upon millions of dollars to expand background checks to private gun sales in that state.
Pratt said:

I believe that most/all gun crime has been by non voter/ non party affiliated /young liberals.
Barry need only appeal to his base to turn in their guns (if any).
Within 6 months, all democratic/democrat (whatever they call themselves) will have to turn in their guns.
After all, why should any dem, lib, progressive etc need to have a gun (or a single bullet...)
Don’t need the oil or the pitchforks; plenty of lamp posts and tree limbs available.
“If you want my gun, you take my bullets too” —anon
Apparently it is a Federal Crime to be an "addict" in possession of a firearm. What is an addict? I don't know. I just know about the law from reading an article about a lawyer losing his license to pleading guilty to this charge. He got charged with it when the State case for drugs fell through. He got arrested in a sting where a client was supposedly paying him for legal services with prescription meds. He had a gun on him at the time.
When was this law passed? Who is an "addict"?
I'm sure many Californians ignore these diktats. As they should.
