Notice who is staying on his side, and who is acting like the child straining to hear. Obama is almost half-way to Putin and Putin is just sitting there. If Obama isn't bowing, he's continually finding a new way to look inferior, or at best the subserviant pose to the alpha dog. Our CIC should hold his own in these exchanges, and Obama hasn't a clue how to. And further, 30 minutes? What can you resolve in 30 minutes, and these two have a lot to talk about?

I noticed that too, but I think the body language answers your question about the topic of discussion - Putin is warning Obama to stay out of his way. I think Putin is about to go medieval on ISIS, and he knows damn well Obama is a Muslim and an ISIS enabler. So he's telling him, "Game on, stay out of my way or I'll make life hell for you. Don't try to undermine me in this." And I'd guess Putin requested Rice (or someone of adequate competency) be there, because he knows Rice will get the message even if Obama doesn't. It's also noticeable that the Muslim Jarrett isn't there - she's afraid of Putin, and she knows damn well he doesn't like her.

That could very well be. I will say that I recanted my earlier opinion about inferior position because I noticed the table was much closer to OBama and it skewed my impression. I was wrong. You may have picked up some other body language I missed, so I'm not saying he didn't take the inferior position. I just don't think it's quite so obvious.
