Former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton told the Democratic Party presidential debate on Saturday evening in Iowa that she would not use the phrase “radical Islam†to describe the enemy responsible for attacking the United States and the west in general.
The exchange with moderator John Dickerson of CBS News was as follows (rush transcript):
Moderator: Secretary Clinton, you mentioned radical jihadists. Sen. Marco Rubio (R-FL), also running for president, said this attack in Paris showed that we are at war with radical Islam. Do you agree with that characterization “radical Islam?â€
Clinton: I don’t think we’re at war with Islam. I don’t think we’re at war with all Muslims. I think we’re at war with jihadists
Moderator: Just to interrupt. he didn’t say all Muslims. He said “radical Islam.â€
Clinton: I think you can talk about Islamists who clearly are also jihadists, but I think it’s not particularly helpful to make the case that Senator Sanders was just making that I agree with that we’ve got to reach out to Muslim countries. We’ve got to have them be part of our coalition. If they hear people running for president who basically shortcut it to say we are somehow against Islam. . .

Becoming POTUS is her only trump card against people (the intelligence community) who think Chicago/Arkansas Politics is recess.

I don’t think it plays well with the electorate.....
She just handed the Rep a loaded gun, we’ll see how well they aim.
But we will see her walking this back in the next few weeks as she realizes what the majority of voters feel towards islamic terrorists.
Just watch how she becomes more and more hawkish.

A young coworker of mine and I had a friendly debate on the nuking of those two Japanese cities.
In college he took a philosophy course that dwelled on those bombings and how the US should have avoided them,
In contrast I took two history courses in college decades earlier : WWII and American Diplomatic History,
Plus my father and his three siblings were all in the military service during WWII,
I tried to explain how barbaric the Japanese were at that time and how dropping those two bombs was the most humane solution across all involved: the US, the Chinese and even Japan.
Bernie Sanders is the best thing to happen to SNL for a long time.
Maybe if the Hillary crimes scandal gets much worse the Debbie Wassmen (”I am Jewish but Israel-ees are mass murderers”) Schulz will call for ISIS to join as a candidate.
Clinton is counting on the Islamofascist vote.
