After a week in which he hosted Saturday Night Live and stood center-stage at a Republican debate, Donald Trump is surging among Republicans likely to cast votes in the partyâs presidential primary. According to the five-day rolling Reuters/Ipsos presidential poll, Trump has leapt some 17 percentage points among likely Republican voters since Nov. 6, when he was essentially tied with Ben Carson at about 25 percent.
Among all Republicans - not simply likely primary voters -Trump holds a substantial edge over Carson, at 34 percent to about 20 percent, according to the Reuters/Ipsos poll. Trumpâs appearance on NBC's Saturday Night Live earned the program its highest ratings in two years, with 9.3 million viewers tuning in. Then, on Tuesday, 13.5 million viewers watched the debate from Milwaukee broadcast on the Fox Business Network. It remains to be seen, however, whether Trumpâs surge will hold in the wake of his comments at an Iowa rally Thursday night in which he tore into Carson, telling the crowd that Carson has a "pathological" temper.
"If youâre pathological, thereâs no cure for that,â Trump said. "If youâre a child molester, thereâs no cure for that.â Trump then posted a video critical of Carson on his Instagram account Friday. The Republican establishment has long expected the outspoken billionaire to fade, and he has yet to give it the satisfaction. Trump has consistently held more than 25 percent of the support among all Republicans in the Reuters/Ipsos rolling poll for more than two months. The Reuters/Ipsos poll is also bad news for Marco Rubio, who is widely considered to be emerging as the establishment-backed alternative to Trump. Despite receiving rave notices for his past two debate performance, Rubioâs support has remained flat, with about 10 percent of likely Republican primary voters preferring him.

I think you're on to something. It looks like Cruz will be the only one left that the Donald has not blasted.
I think that was a given from the start, I sure hope and pray it is and can’t come soon enough.
What you said is true. It will also be true for Cruz (who I support). I think Trump and Cruz are both grownups and know that the positions they have staked out will find no friends in our feckless ruling class. Fortunately, I think both these candidates will not be afraid to use the Bully Pulpit to get the American people to whip them into shape.
At least that is my hope, because of they can’t, I fear we are lost.
I am very concerned about the opposition of the Democrat/Progressive fifth-column, the MSM, to getting meaningful change accomplished. I’d love to see Trump or Cruz get the DOJ to investigate the collusion of the Big 3 with the Democrat Party and use the damming info they uncover to pull one or more of their FCC licenses. Even the threat of that, I hope would force them to clean up their act and perform the role we want them to play, impartial watchdog of the public good.
Trump will be the next President of the US!!!
Carson will always get the votes of the Sharpton followers.
Hail and Brimstone campaigning may be the only way to wake up the voters, seems to have worked will with sinners.
Kevin McCarthy sold out the CA Gop in a private meeting in which he okayed the CA Dem party created new state districts in order to spare his district from being wiped out in the original boundaries set up.
Thank the Silicon Valley billionaire's best buddy political puppet Kevin McCarthy !
I suspect they're suggesting Trump SHOULD be hurt by his comments (I won't buy the media characterization at face value.) They're trying to move opinion, not report it.
Excellent reality summary versus faux concern.
Obama, Mochelle, VJ ..all need to be in orange jump suits .

Three hours until Donald Trump’s rally in Beaumont and hundreds are waiting in line:
Is that you Karl? Is that you Juan? Is that you Mutt?
We need to get things “undone”, we do not need that bunch to get things done n00b.
Probably so. Americans believe in the power of redemption through Jesus. It's no reach at all.

I used to feel that Ted would be a great vp for Trump.
He might be more important as Attorney General for Trump for 8 years.
He could get rid of the cr*p in the AG office, FBI and Home land Security.
Then he could investigate the rats and rino’s for the crimes they have committed and arrest them and send them to jail after they are found guilty in trials.
Good luck electing anyone who can accomplish that...who would not be vilified by the media and the establishment. It can be no other way.
If the poster's concern is genuine then he's not thought through the implications.
Redemption means forgiveness for our sins which we commit on a daily basis. We continue to sin and dont stop sinning because we are redeemed but rather we are forgiven. For example, Alcoholism doesnt stop because one is saved and its a constant fight. The Lord has forgiven Carson but doesn’t mean his pathological tendencies have been removed.
Is it “Time to Face Facts” video of Sen. Cruz on youtube?
Those search terms should get it.
Ah yes, Ben Carson - the safe space candidate.
The guy can’t lead, so he needs to get out of the way.
His attack on Carson is not going to sit well with people.
Evidently, not so....
