“THE AMERICAN BLOOD IS BEST, AND WE WILL TASTE IT SOON”
powerlineblog.com ^ | November 13, 2015 | JOHN HINDERAKER

Fox News reports that jihadi web sites are rejoicing over today’s terrorist attacks in Paris. The line we have heard more than once from ISIS-related sites is, “The American blood is best, and we will taste it soon.” The French are tougher than many realize, but they are not the primary targets of Muslim extremists.

This morning, in a burst of bad timing, Barack Obama said on ABC that ISIS is “contained.” Far from being contained, ISIS is on a roll, from the Sinai, where they apparently brought down an airplane full of Russian tourists, to Paris, France.

No one can seriously doubt that ISIS, and other Muslim terrorist groups, are doing all they can to attack the United States. We, meanwhile, are welcoming enormous numbers of immigrants from Islamic countries, and have gone “open borders” so that anyone can enter the United States from the south. What reason is there to think that Islamic terrorists will not enter across our unguarded borders and organize attacks similar to, or worse than, what France experienced tonight? None.

You are absolutely correct.

There are several significant milestones not mentioned by our media in general regarding Iraq.

Give or take, specifically, the number of xxal-Qaeda killed on the ground in Iraq was near 34,000 by mid 2008. xxAl-Qaeda absolutely did come from points throughout the Middle East to go to battle with us.

- Getting off the al-Qaeda topic a bit, the value of yellow xcake removed from Iraq by Christmas of 2008 was roughly $4.5 billion dollars worth. Most of which has since belonged to Canada.

- Number of US troops suffering from chemical xweapon exposure is believed to be roughly 600. This is a real no-no topic. Some actually died.

While Iraq was a xtacticalx environment for those who were there, the grand strategy included being positioned on both sides of Iran, to get between Iran and Saudi Arabia, Iran and Israel, and to control the length of the Persian Gulf and to protect our “allies” on the west side of the Persian Gulf.

By default, being in Iraq placed our defensive xassets between Iran and Southeast Europe, as well as acted to displace some geopolitical influences from Moscow and Beijing. At least for a while.

What we have now is quite the opposite.

Which of our current presidents policies has not worked to rejuvenate and strengthen the geopolitical and military influence of Moscow (as throughout the “cold war”) throughout the Middle East?

Is your middle photo a B-1 bomber?

Appears so. It was a stock photo from an online article.

Actually, I was in the US Embassy in Moscow in the Fall of 1993, (think Bill Clinton), when the biggest INS demographic shift toward the Middle East in our history took place.

To do so, we had to significantly reduce the number of visas issued to other regions of the world.

Many European and Asian immigrant and student visas were actually cancelled, who had been waiting for visas into the US, as our new policy was to replace them with immigrants and students from about 20 countries from the Middle East. These new locations were listed by name. While it certainly did not stop all issuance of visas to other parts of the world, it was a huge stated policy shift.

This was largely believed at the time, by government and non-government employees, to be reckless and dangerous.

I specifically remember conversations with US and foreign diplomats who were alarmed, specifically about xxterrorismx and the real motives of those we were now going to admit into the US and Europe. Some theorized we may have been admitting more fascist and ideological apposing individuals into the west to steer the US and our government into a different direction.

After what we have now experienced and are experiencing, that would be a gross understatement.

I would love to see a million armed man march on Washington or in the streets of many American towns. Put the fear of God in them.

I’ve been saying for years that it would be very easy for jihadists to come across the southern borders, as they are similar is stature, coloring and diet to Latinos. But would anyone listen?...Nooooooooooo!”

I have made the same statement on FR for the last 6 years. They have been coming across unhindered during that time. There are hundreds of terrorist cells here now. They also learn conversational spanish to hide their identity. The simultaneous attacks are coming.

Who will be our Charles Martel, and where will the Battle of Tours be fought?

Islam has the same motive as in 732AD.

We fight or die..it's that simple.

I second that thought. I’d be happy as a lark to see a ten thousand armed man march. That too would peak the fear in them.

There is nothing illegal about a gun owners march carrying their favorite weapons. Just get your license to have a march. There are many, many gun friendly communities in the United States who would be happy to have such marches.

Show our enemies that there are many strong men and women in this country who are locked and loaded. This would erase the pathetic imagery of the candle vigils. Candle vigils only make our enemies gloat and see us as weaklings. Imagine youtube full of thousands of gun carrying Americans. That is the image of strength and determination that ISIS needs to see.

We need a list of all of the terrorist attacks all over the world, we tend to forget and the media doesn’t show this as what it really is an ongoing world war. What ever happens in Europe, or the Middle East or Africa or Asia is also happening to America. It is ALL one war.

You’re probably right (although I now think that Iraq was a big debacle- from start to finish). That said, the best piece of evidence to support your comment, that (i.e. going into Iraq....i.e. the Hornet’s nest) is that other than London and Madrid, the U.S. didn’t have any major attacks after 9/11. Still, the main problem was that Bush, like so many of his surrogates (then or now) never really explained it, and still don’t, to the public nor asked Congress for a Declaration of War (as per the Constitution)!! To make matters worst- instead of asking the public at large to fully sacrifice... he told them to go shopping and to pay for the “War” he cut taxes! (I’m 100% for cutting taxes...during PEACE time)That’s why many people lump Bush and Obama as the same in the sense of their total incompetences!!!

Quite: a running list of all terrorist attacks worldwide.
Not sure who has the resources & inclination to do it.

Do be aware that the Left is circulating a list ostensibly proving that right-wing & Christians are _more_ a terroristic threat in the USA, tallying up total kills by the likes of Timothy McVeigh etc. - and NOT noting the number of attacks (admittedly a few were more...efficient), nor noting the instant & loud denunciation by every sociopolitical group that could be connected with them.

Yes. Big drawback. Although better than Vietnam, the Iraq War was never framed in the proper propaganda structure (and, yes, propaganda IS important for war in a democracy because Americans don't want to go to war as a rule).

Bush and Rumsfeld allowed themselves to be outflanked in the media, rather than staying on the attack all the time.

I have posted a couple of times what I saw on c-span back in 2004 when the Republicans were having their presidential convention in New York City. The democrats put 40,000 demonstrators out on the streets to protest the Republican convention being held in NYC. What craziness. Why didn’t they put 40,000 people on the streets to protest the outrage on the 9/11 terror attacks?

The democrats are blind by their hatred of the republicans and their lust to hold on to power. So much so that they see the republicans as the real enemies and not the terrorists. These people are hopeless and the communists are in the lead in todays democrat party.
