It took longer than almost anybody expected, but on Thursday night, it looked as though the wheels were finally starting to come off Donald Trumpâs run for the presidency. Itâs too early to write his political obituary just yet â heâs shown remarkable resilience in the face of ridicule and disdain â but even Trump will have trouble recovering from a day in which he repeatedly compared his chief rival to a âchild molesterâ and invited attendees at a campaign event to bring a knife up on stage and try to stab him.
Trump has been aggressively attacking retired neurosurgeon Ben Carson, who has pulled even with him in national opinion polls of Republican primary voters. Last weekend, Trumpâs attacks became more pointed, and he latched on to a line from Carsonâs book, Gifted Hands, in which Carson described his childhood temper as âpathological.â

Weird?! It was fantastic. And it is also all that anyone is talking about. And if anyone takes the time to watch it, he’ll come out on top. Just watch the polls. Nothing weird about it.
Trump can’t talk. He yells.
I agree, and I wonder what prompted him to do it. Trump should keep his hands clean and just let the MSM and Ben Carson, himself, take down Ben Carson. They were both doing a fine job at it.
I really wish he would stick to the issues.
And so is trying to kill your mother w/ a hammer and trying to stab someone. Another Trump “drinking game” end is near article.
I agree it is slanted n
I agree though that Trump’s obsession with media Menes about Carson is not an encouraging thing to see.
He should not follow the media’s smears.
I find his speeches exhausting to watch
Wheels coming off? Wishful thinking IMHO.
One of the best I’ve heard, but thanks for giving us the GOPe slant on things.
It wasn’t weird...he said when he started he was going to ‘take some of the gloves off, it’s that time’ and he only quoted Carson on the things that Carson has said about himself...he went into the other ones, and it’s well known what he was saying...
If he offended Iowa, well maybe they need to be offended, they think their votes are the only votes in the nation that counts and they aren’t..
A lot of Presidents have not won Iowa and have gone on to win the office...
I thought it was about time we get down to brass tacks...
GO TRUMP GO!!!
Too much slant for my tastes. Perhaps this will derail Trump, but there is no sign yet that it actually will. An honest reporter (if such a thing existed) would allow events to speak for themselves rather than continuing to try to shape the future. These people are as bad as pollsters who do push polls to try to shape perceptions - just as sleazy and dishonest. [Note: The pollsters who do sleaze used to tease me as a “Boy Scout”, on the rare occasions when we saw each other, thinking they would hurt my feelings with that title.]
No wall, no future.
“Weird?! It was fantastic. And it is also all that anyone is talking about. And if anyone takes the time to watch it, heâll come out on top. Just watch the polls. Nothing weird about it.”
I’ve only seen a few short clips of it. Is this, once again, an instance where the whole discussion has to be heard to have the correct context?
Don’t be a commie. Support Donald Trump.
And, that, in itself should scare the cuckster establishment.
I wouldn’t bet on it, Trump didn’t get this far without having a spare.
I was disillusioned at first but now starting to think he’s exposing Carson as a pathological liar. The story about a call from the legal dept. is just wrong on so many levels.
I may be wrong but this has been Trump’s MO. If the media can’t unearth the dirt on his opponents, he throws out enough to make headlines and force the discussion. IMHO
“he repeatedly compared his chief rival to a ââ¬Åchild molesterââ¬Â and invited attendees at a campaign event to bring a knife up on stage and try to stab him.”
Did he hire Shia LaBeouf as his speech writer????
Trump and Carson are both losing credibility as potential voters get more exposed to them. Long-term, I suspect they are both on a bell-shaped trajectory. Cruz stands to gain the most.
