A painful exchange with a young student who's organizing for free public colleges, cancellation of all student debt and $15/hour minimum wage for all campus employees. She doesn't really know how to pay for it, unfortunately.

LOL You mean common core math can’t be used to subtract 1.3 trillion in student loan debt from 1 trillion in 1% hoarder dollars? Are there negatives in common core?
I am a visual learner and had to do the math in my mind by graph and then actually see the problem in my mind. I can see why kids today can’t do this. They never had to memorize math facts before 4th grade, do long division by hand (I hate that stuff) and multiplication. Forget fractions.
You are exactly right. Can you imagine if ONE of the campaigners suggested no more federal aid for college? All colleges must use the financial format of College of the Ozarks.

If I knew beforehand what was going to happen I would have had to have botox injections all over my face like Carly.
>>>> “I live in a world and I see a system around me where there is a population that is doing nothing to contribute to the progression of society,” she added. <<< (transcript from Breitbart)
How absolute terrifying and utter arrogance of the young woman.
Imagine given any tiny bit of power or control, what would she have done to those population she thinks ‘doing nothing to contribute to the progression of society’.
Thank-you, miss marmelstein.
Most of our Freeper men are gentlemen.....
....but there’s always the exception.
Began...however, students teach students in many online courses offered by colleges, etc. The professor really does have a lot to offer in experience and lecture.
2011 = MIT Will Offer Certificates to Outside Students Who Take Its Online Courses

She would make a great community organizer though!
Yes. I love almost all of our freeper guys. But ocassionally, when shown to be out of their league, one of them will go the old “you’re old, you’re haggard, you’re done” routine. John Wayne - the man who told reporters to treat the besieged, raped and young Patty Hearst with kindness - would not approve.
This is why we have to get the economy moving. As soon as some 18 year old gets her first paycheck, she pretty much switches over to conservatism. Well, at least that used to be the case! Now $100,000 a year single women want free tampons!
Does the kid who was on the hunger strike at Missouri, whose father made over 6 million dollars last year, get the same free college? And how does his one-percenter father feel about paying 90-100% in taxes?
Inquiring minds want to know ...
Hey, that song is on my iPod! Guilty pleasure, I guess.
What's sad about this is that this is your typical female college student. They have gone through their entire lives as "Daddy's Little Girl" never having had their assumptions challenged. They actually think that successful rich people should be taxed into poverty so that they never have to struggle in their own lives.
This young woman evidently assumed that she would go on this national news show and get a softball interview. She thought that she was going to come away from this as some kind of heroine for the cause. Instead, she appeared shocked, shocked!... that this mean guy interviewing her would actually challenge her assumptions.
She lit up when she started talking about socialism—the poor, deluded, math-challenged woman.
She thinks that when the 1% leaves any country, that there still is a “1%” (apparently a static number to the OWS-types) left. Some of the richer of the 99% and their lesser bank accounts will be counted as those who should pay as though they have unlimited funds. When the newly adjusted 1% realize, as did their predecessors, that they can’t afford what the 99% expects of them, there will be another down-adjustment, and another, and another, etc., until 100% of the people find themselves with no one to pay their bills.
Even my non-mathematical mind can understand this much.
“I mean absolutely” represents a large portion of her working vocabulary.
Free College! I think that it’s so great that all those college professors are willing to work for free!

Whoever is angry with his brother without a cause shall be in danger of the judgment. And whoever says to his brother, “Raca!” shall be in danger of the council. But whoever says, “You fool!” shall be in danger of hell fire (Matt 5:22).
As for tastes in acting, like everything else, it is individual. One person I consider a great actor is Kevin Klein. I didn’t consider him until watching Dave and the transformation from Dave to the President early in the movie with body language that I realized how good he is.
Like Eastwood, Wayne’s personality came through over his career and he brought that to his work.
I’m not sure what a biblical quote has to do with acting. I reiterate: acting is an art like painting and ballet. You have to know the techniques, the rules, the conventions before rendering an opinion. Mr. Eastwood is very different than Mr. Wayne. You can only understand that from years of studying films and theater, attending acting class and speaking with actors and directors and producers - people who are more knowledgeable than me or you. In other words, it is a profession; it is not easily accessible to amateurs or nonprofessionals. You are entitled to your opinion; that doesn’t make it an educated opinion.
:) Just wanted to warn you about calling someone a fool. I noticed you studied Literature. Got a question for you. Off topic.
In Wuthering Heights when Catherine says, “I am Heathcliff!” was Emily Bronte saying she was Heathcliff and that is why Charlotte edited the story? I would love to read the original.
I notice, in all your biblical pomposity, that you did not castigate the person who was calling me an old, gray-haired woman and generally insulting me on my unknown appearance. I wonder why.
Wuthering Heights was published at the same time as Jane Eyre. I have no memory that Charlotte edited it. She did edit Emily’s poems but that didn’t occur until Emily was dead.
That young lady fully falls into the category, “dumb as a box of rocks”, embarrassingly stupid.
The only thing she’s got going for her is she kind of cute but when that fades away and it will, she’ll be left being just plain old stupid.
“There will always be a 1%”. Maggie Thatcher’s remarks come to mind. The universities teachings are coming to mind. What a shame.
