Cruz won the night, followed closely by Rubio and Fiorina.

The rest can all go home and take a nap.

Especially that old fogey Kasich.

Its getting comical, listening to the chattering classes spinning furiously trying to influence in the immediate aftermath of these debates, only to be completely contradicted the next day by the masses.

They have definitely lost whatever influence they may once have had.

Fancy that!!! They chose the one most likely to be able to articulate to youth the reasons why our written Constitution, protecting citizens from runaway government power, is as revolutionary today as it was in 1787.

"Ideas have consequences."- Weaver

The only path to making America "great again" begins and ends with understanding of, and strict adherence to, the ideas and principles underlying the Constitution of the United States of America, as they were explained in the 85 essays of THE FEDERALIST, newspaper essays addressed directly to "the People" prior to ratification of that Constitution by the people in the states.
-------------------------

"On every question of construction, let us carry ourselves back to the time when the Constitution was adopted, recollect the spirit manifested in the debates, and instead of trying what meaning may be squeezed out of the text, or invented against it, conform to the probable one in which it was passed."

— Thomas Jefferson, letter to William Johnson, June 12, 1823, The Complete Jefferson, p. 322.

"Our peculiar security is in the possession of a written Constitution. Let us not make it a blank paper by construction." Thomas Jefferson to W, Nicholas, 1803.

In his own 1801 Inaugural Address, after listing what he called the "essential principles" to guide his Administration, Jefferson added:

"These principles form the bright constellation which has gone before us and guided our steps through an age of revolution and reformation. The wisdom of our sages and blood of our heroes have been devoted to their attainment. They should be the creed of our political faith, the text of civic instruction, the touchstone by which to try the services of those we trust; and should we wander from them in moments of error or of alarm, let us hasten to retrace our steps and to regain the road which alone leads to peace, liberty, and safety." - Thomas Jefferson, First Inaugural, 1801

We might contrast Jefferson's understanding with the current Administration/Clinton's proudly-proclaimed "progressive", extra-constitutional policies which, in effect, undo all the monumental work accomplished by the Founders on behalf of liberty and leave the law afloat and without anchor, relying, as of old, on mere men and women.

Cruz was the star of the show. He was doing so well, that they put him in the cone of silence for almost an hour it seemed.

Social media is manipulative and manipulated.

How do you know is is positive just because someone is mentioned in a social media post? Isn’t it just as likely to be something negative from someone who is ridiculing them?

Before the post-debate polls come out, social media activity is the best measure of debate performance.

He would have done even better if the audience had not been packed with Bushies. It was quite obvious when major applause lines were barely acknowledged.

Cruz doesnt exist outside of these debates. His media coverage is non-existent.

Dont crow so hard about mentions on social media. He will go dark, with only supportive blogs talking him up. That is why he consistently polls at a far 3rd or a tied 4th....or worse. Trump is his own media, and Carson is a slow-motion car wreck, so they will never not be in the press.

Cruz has no (old or new) media strategy. I would not be shocked if the press buries him in a pile of Bush/Rubio stories by Monday.

I see the media is getting behind the establishments/Globalists last best hope of stopping Donald Trump, the recent Canadian citizen Ted Cruz.

Anyone catch the seconds after the debate concluded? While some candidates ran right to the spin room and some moved to shake the moderators’ hands, Trump and Cruz were shaking hands with each other and having a quiet conversation.

Offering an opinion at no charge to you.

Carly F. has heard entirely too many of o-puppet’s speeches. Her halting, sharp clip is much too reminiscent of what WTP are now enduring. Please....NO TO 4 or, GADS, 8 years of this. Go be a teacher or something. Lecture with a sneer.

Not that he was in the same league, Gov. Jindal was impressive last night. Admire the man - he has come a long way from the official introduction...his rebuttal of the State of the Union Address years ago.

Ohio gov K really knocked himself out! Belligerent, cranky, tooting, and rude. And many think of TRUMP as having a big ego?!! Please!- there is at least a reason for that. As to John’s, not so much.
