Conservative presidential candidate Ben Carson says the $7.25 federal minimum wage should be raised.
âI think, probably, it should be higher than now,â Carson told CNBCâs John Harwood in an interview Friday.
Carson added that government assistance often provides more than the minimum wage in several states, allowing people to ignore the long-term benefits of a job.

Carson’s Democrat roots are a showing
Of course Carson is for the increased minimum wage, all of those who don’t understand how economies work are for it.
More importantly, many state and local regulations and fees against building and small manufacturing by private property owners need to be repealed and abolished. Raising the minimum wage won’t make any substantial difference.
Carson gets my "spidey senses" tingling and gives me the heebie jeebies.
Now for a short public service announcement to all on FR:
I prefer Cruz and my money goes to his campaign, hence the Cruz link. If you like someone else, donate to him/her (find your own link to do it) and if you use FR and don't donate, then please don't complain about the welfare leeches or those who have Obama Phones because, functionally, you are no different than any other FReeloader
PS - If you are one of those who cannot afford even a small donation to FR or a candidate, God Bless and happy FReeping!.....
GO CRUZ!! Keep it up Trump!!
It’s starting to look like Ben Carson is working BOTH SIDES of the street.
LOL Are you stalking me? I forgot about the peanut brittle.
Naw, just a good memory, especially about peanut brittle (YUM !!!).
Are you a WFTDer?
I don’t like Carson for anything. I want to see him perform a brain surgery before I believe he was a surgeon. If he was, he’s the dumbest sounding doctor I have ever saw in my wife. He mumbles his words when talking, clothes his eyes and has a very limited vocabulary. Sounds like an illiterate who quit school in the 6th grade. To me he’s the republican version of Obama. Maybe he could handle a dept in Walmart, but that might be a stretch.
Every time we raise the minimum wage, we lose jobs.....Dr. Ben Carson at Liberty U today
You can’t justify a higher minimum wage when work force participation is at a 30 year low AND wages are depressed by legal and illegal immigrants.
Close the border, stop all immigration, deport a couple million people here to work, and then wages may increase over time.
But not right now.
OK, you got me; what is a WFTDer?
He was talking to conservative last night so he said he wouldn’t raise it. Today he was once again talking to a conservative crowd and said he wouldn’t raise it.
Taking to a liberal crowd this past May, he said...
Conservative presidential candidate Ben Carson says the $7.25 federal minimum wage should be raised.
âI think, probably, it should be higher than now,â Carson told CNBCâs John Harwood in an interview Friday.
All depends on what crowd he’s talking to. Like other politicians he panders for a vote and sometimes he gets caught at it.
Why is anyone speaking to John Harwood?
Hmmm, I am now a WFTDer.
Unfortunately, this is a smart move by Carson, for the American people strongly favor higher wages any way they can get them.
Smart move? He got caught trying to have it both ways. Was a democrat too long and its hard to break democrat talking points.
“We will see. I hope you are right. But I donât think Cruz can, for reasons beyond his control, tap into the broad anti-Establishment sentiment that is clearly dominating the political landscape.”
We better hope he can, because Cruz is our only hope of getting an actual conservative nominated and elected.
