Based on the horn on his face
I have one guy: Cruz.
Trump is a moron on immigration. He has some if the right ideas, but all he can say is WALL, WALL, WALL. That makes me cringe. We need a wall, but when the moderators ask, “How do you expect to deport 11 million illegals,” the answer is so glaringly obvious that it underscores Trump’s tenuous grasp on the subject. Here’s how Trump *could* hit a home run on the topic:
1. As you have probably heard, I want to build a wall. That’s to stem the tide. We need it - I’ll do it. But it doesn’t stop there...
2. Any illegal who interacts with law enforcement, whether it be because of rape or a speeding ticket, will be deported. Period. Law enforcement should not be ignoring our immigration laws. If we know the person is here illegally, they need to suffer the consequence of that crime, which is deportation.
3. I would cut off - and work with Congress to make it illegal under federal statute - to give any state funded benefits to illegal immigrants. No welfare, food stamps, subsidized phones, education - nothing. I would vigorously prosecute local governments who violated federal immigration authority, which is granted in the Constitution, by creating sanctuary cities or giving out benefits in violation of the statute.
4. I would vigorously prosecute any business or individual that was found to be hiring illegal aliens. The penalties would be severe and punative in nature. I would expand the eVerify program to ensure companies and individuals could hire with confidence.
5. I would work with Congress to make it illegal to rent apartments or sell homes to illegals. If the person is not supposed to be in this country, then why do we allow people to willingly lease apartments to them, thus aiding and abetting their crime? In fact, I may not even have to pass a law on this. They may already be guilty of aiding and abetting the crime. I would open eVerify to landlords and real estate agents to assist.
6. I would offer ONE benefit to any illegal who wants to take it: a paid ticket home for them and their family, which includes minor children who may be US citizens due to birthright. If their parents can’t support them in the US, they should take them back to their home country until the citizen child can come to the US and support themselves. They left their original country to find a place to support their children, so there is no shame in going back to that country with their child and seeking a means of support there.
7. When all that is done, do you think I will really have to deport 11 million people? They will have no jobs, no benefits, and no where to stay. They will deport themselves, just as they deported themselves from their home country, except - pursuant to point #6 - they may not have to trek across desert to make it. I’ll provide them a comfortable ride back.
This might be the last ‘debate’ I watch.
I’m tired of liberal ‘moderators’ asking 5 minutes questions are are nothing more than lectures on ‘how liberals see it better’...
If liberal mods are running the next ‘debate’ I’m NOT watching. Not one minute.
You’re right - take the oil. Let them know there’s a price for having “always at war” unbridled Islamic cultures.
I’m tired of paying the price for ‘stupid’...
I don’t appreciate being told to “eat shit and die.” It’s just crass, especially in light of the comment I made that triggered such a vulgar assault from you.
Whatever. You’ve shown your character. No need to continue our conversation.
Already explained that you were not included in my comment #918, but believe what you want. You sound pretty liberal in how you are so easily offended. But whatever. Have a nice life.
The new “Carly Doll”. She pulls her own string and continues to interrupt beyond the bounds of even jackal etiquette. Turn her head to the right, she scowls. Turn her head to the left, she lectures.
Didn't notice that before, but you are correct! Bartiromo has that CIndy Brady type of lisp thing going on with an elitist liberal edge added to it.
I know this much - I will never watch another 'debate' with liberal moderators asking either 1. Snarky contemptuous question like the last debate, or 2. Five minutes questions that are little more than speeches 'giving the liberal side'.
Conservative moderators next time or I'm outta here.
I should have stopped watching after the first 5 minutes.
Hey Neil Cavuto - Jimmy Carter operative - I don't care about the rent-a-crowd 'protesters' bought and paid for by white liberal elites. Rent-a-Mob protesters are something we DON'T care about.
And your 'roll the eyes' response to our response to the minimum wage is stupid. Do you have a clue who we are? Spend five minutes in wonder when Hillary doesn't respond to why we need a strong NRA... that would be the equivalent. Clueless or liberal pushing a liberal agenda. Which one is it Neil?
Don't care. No more stupid grillings by liberals. This was the last time I waste time watching... There are conservative journalists.
Fifty years ago newspapers and TV networks couldn't find qualified blacks
... Forty years ago the press said they couldn't fine qualified women.
Today the press says they can't find qualified Conservatives.
Same thuggy excuses - new choice of victim. A pox on their house.

Sounds like she wants to start World War III, IV & V.
Taking sides over there is a dumb idea. Until enough people want peace over there, just let them go on wiping each other out. Carly's answer is just garbage.

Couple of comments.
First, you’re right. Who besides Satan, the accuser at law of the brethren, and his minions demand we be perfect to be a Christian? We become Christians because we are hopelessly imperfect. The ONLY question for time and eternity is Jesus Christ, NOT or sins or self-righteousness. Jesus took care of the sin problem we could never EVER take care of.
God himself has done the heavy lifting because he loves us so, but he will never force himself on us - we still have free will. All that’s left for man to do is simply accept God’s FREE GIFT (no “works” added - just as we are) of forgiveness and eternal life by receiving Jesus Christ. A million thanks, Lord Jesus!
Secondly, I see no conflict between true science and the Bible as written. The issue isn’t reading the Bible literally, it is misreading the Bible (normally a result of not allowing the Holy Spirit, the author of the Bible, to help us understand it). The Bible never says earth was crated 6000 years ago in six days. The Bible provides no time-frame for earth’s creation (Gen 1:1).
It is only after the first recorded flood (Gen 1:2) that the Bible begins counting time. The six days that took place 6000 years ago is the biblical timeframe for God’s RE-creation including man after the first recorded flood. It is very interesting that there is no evidence of any writings earlier than about 5000 years ago (after the second recorded flood of Noah).
The earth is VERY old - billions of years, whatever. Man is not that old. True science is a friend of the Bible.
The power that be will NEVER get it.
It’s up to the candidates who care about our country to take matters into their own hands and arrange REAL debates with INVISIBLE moderators.
Yeah, Yeb! was referring to Reagan's liberal idiot son, Ron Reagan.
We know that the fans of one particular candidate had declared him the winner before the debate even started. ;)
How snarky. I don't know of anyone here who's already voted, do you? This post was the inspiration for my comment: FYI: With 20 min to go in the debate. I wish we could VOTE for the LOSER: Kasich. Kasich is one of several vanity candidates. A vanity candidate is one who has no chance of winning the nomination, but clogs up debates, taking time away from real candidates. |
I do not know what debate you were listening to, but no, Ted Cruz said no such thing at all.
As a matter of fact, if Ted Cruz was for the dreamers, as you claim, then why the hell would he demand that all DREAMers be deported before he will consider helping with the humanitarian crisis?????
http://www.dpcc.senate.gov/?p=blog&id=310
Why would he also go on record stating DEPORTING DREAMERS IS MY TOP PRIORITY??? http://www.vox.com/2014/7/16/5911001/ted-cruz-deporting-dreamers-is-my-top-priority
And why pray tell, would Ted Cruz do everything he can, to stop Obama’s amnesty plan, when that would allow all the “Dreamers” to become citizens?
I’m sorry, but your argument is bunk. Not only are you putting words into Ted Cruz’s mouth, but you are reading and writing what is not there. Ted is NOT for Dreamers. The FACTS bear that out.

TED CRUZ TRANSCRIPT FROM DEBATE:
Fifty-eight years ago, my father fled Cuba. As he stood on the deck of that ferryboat with the wind and salt air blowing, he looked back at the oppression and torture he was escaping. And yet he looked forward to the promise of America. His story is our story. What ties Americans together is we are all the children of those who risked everything for freedom.
America is in crisis now. I believe in America. And if we get back to the free market principles and constitutional liberties that built this country, we can turn this country around. I believe that 2016 will be an election like 1980, that we will win by following Reaganâs admonition to paint in bold colors, not pale pastels. Weâre building a grassroots army. I ask you to join us at tedcruz.org. And we, the people, can turn this nation around.
Well, Maria, itâs great to be with you. Itâs great to be here in Milwaukee. You know, the question you asked really I think is the most important question any of us can have â face, which is, how do we get the economy growing? How do we bring back economic growth?
Because economic growth, itâs foundational to every other challenge we have. As you rightly noted, from 2008 to today, our economy has grown 1.2 percent a year on average. The Obama economy is a disaster, and the IMF is telling us this is a new normal. It doesnât have to be.
If you look at the history of America, there are three levers that government has had to facilitate economic growth. The first is tax reform. And as you noted, I have rolled out a bold and simple flat tax: 10 percent for every American that would produce booming growth and 4.9 million new jobs within a decade.
The second element is regulatory reform, pulling back the armies of regulators that have descended like locusts on small businesses.
And the third element is sound money. Every time weâve pursued all three of those â whether in the 1920s with Calvin Coolidge or the 1960s with JFK or the 1980s with Ronald Reagan â the result has been incredible economic growth. We have done it before, and with leadership, we can do it again.
Well, my Mom is here, so I donât think we should be pushing any grannies off cliffs.
(LAUGHTER)
And, you miss-stated what Iâve said on entitlement reform. What Iâve said is for seniors we should make no changes whatsoever, for younger workers we should gradually raise the retirement age, we should have benefits grow more slowly, and we should allow them to keep a portion of their taxes in a personal account that they control, and can pass on to their kidsâ¦
I want to go back to the discussion we had a minute ago because, you know, what was said was right. The democrats are laughing â because if republicans join democrats as the party of amnesty, we will lose.
(APPLAUSE)
And, you know, I understand that when the mainstream media covers immigration, it doesnât often see it as an economic issue. But, I can tell you for millions â of Americans at home watching this, it is a very personal economic issue. And, I will say the politics of it will be very, very different if a bunch of lawyers or bankers were crossing the Rio Grande.
(AUDIENCE REACTION)
Or if a bunch of people with journalism degrees were coming over and driving down the wages in the press.
(AUDIENCE REACTION)
(APPLAUSE) (CHEERING)
Then, we would see stories about the economic calamity that is befalling our nation. And, I will say for those of us who believe people âought to come to this country legally, and we should enforce the law, weâre tired of being told itâs anti-immigrant. Itâs offensive.
(APPLAUSE)
I am the son of an immigrant who came legally from Cubaâ¦
(BELL RINGING)
â¦to seek the American dream. And, we can embrace legal immigration while believing in the rule of law â and I would note, try going illegally to another country. Try going to China, or Japan. Try going to Mexico. See what they do. Every sovereign nation secures its borders, and it is not compassionate to say weâre not going to enforce the lawsâ¦
(BELL RINGING)
â¦And weâre going to drive down the wages for millions of hardworking men and women. That is abandoning the workingâ¦
(APPLAUSE)
Well, sure, you put your finger on what the problem is. The current system isnât fair. Washington is fundamentally corrupt. There are more words in the IRS code than there are in the Bible â and â and not a one of them is as good.
(LAUGHTER)
Every one of them reflects a carve-out or a subsidy, and itâs all about empowering the Washington cartel. My simple Flat Tax says that, for a family of four, for the first $36,000 you earn, you pay no taxes whatsoever. No income taxes, no payroll taxes, no nothing.
Above that, every American pays 10 percent across the board â a flat, fair tax. Which means that no longer do you have hedge-fund billionaires paying a lower tax rate than their secretaries.
On the business side, Iâve got a business flat tax of 16 percent â again, that applies across the board. Right now, with our corporate income tax, giant corporations with armies of accountants regularly are paying little to no taxes while small businesses are getting hammered.
This is fair and across-the-board. Now, you ask, how do the numbers add up? I would encourage folks, if you go to our website, tedcruz.org, we have the specific numbers on the website.
This plan eliminates the payroll tax, eliminates the death tax, eliminates the corporate income tax, and it abolishes the IRS.
(APPLAUSE)
And the effect of that is incredible economic growth. It means every income group will see double-digit increases, from the very poorest to the very weakest, of at least 14 percent.
So if youâre a single mom, if youâre making $40,000 a year, what that means is an extra about $5,000 in your pocket to provide for your kids, to make ends meet. It has a powerful, powerful effect.
And thereâs one other really powerful feature of my plan, which is that itâs border-adjustable. Which means, if youâre an exporter â if youâre a farmer, if youâre a rancher, if youâre a manufacturer, you donât pay the businesses flat tax.
Exports are free of that tax, but all imports pay that 16 percent business flat tax, which means this tax plan would cause jobs to boom, and it would let America compete with China and the world on a level playing field.
Well, the numbers the Tax Foundation had put out is that the static cost of the plan is $3.6 trillion over 10 years, but the dynamic cost of the plan, which â which is the cost that factors in growth, is about $768 billion.
It is less than a trillion. It costs less than virtually every other plan people have put up here, and yet it produces more growth and itâs one of the very few plans that abolishes the IRS.
But on top of that, today, we rolled out a spending plan. $500 billion in specific cuts â five major agencies that I would eliminate. The IRS, the Department of Commerce, the Department of Energy, the Department of Commerce, and HUD â and then 25 specific programs.
Again, thatâs on our website at tedcruz.org. You want to look at specificity? Itâs easy for everyone to say, âcut spendingâ. Itâs much harder and riskier to put out, chapter and verse, specifically the programs you would cut to stop bankrupting our kids and grandkids.
â¦Middle ground that brings both of these togetherâ¦
FIORINA:
â¦Yes, the middle ground is thisâ¦
CRUZ:
â¦Exactly right, that we have to defend this nation. You think defending this nation is expensive, try not defending it. Thatâs a lot more expensive.
(APPLAUSE) (CHEERING)
CRUZ:
But, you can do that, and pay for it. You can do that, and also be fiscally responsible. You know, I mention that the 25 programs that I put today, that I would eliminate them. Among them are corporate welfare, like sugar subsidies. Letâs take that as an example. Sugar subsidies. Sugar farmers farm underâ¦
(BELL RINGING)
CRUZ:
â¦under roughly 0.2% of the farmland in America, and yet they give 40% of the lobbying money. That sort of corporate welfare is why weâre bankrupting our kids, and grandkids. I would end those subsidies to pay for defending this nationâ¦
Absolutely yes. You know, I have spent much of my adult life enforcing the law and defending the Constitution. And the problem that underlies all of this is the cronyism and corruption of Washington.
You know, the opening question Jerry asked, would you bail out the big banks again? Nobody gave you an answer to that. Iâll give you an answer. Absolutely not.
(APPLAUSE)
And what we have right now is we have Washington â as government gets bigger and bigger, you know, the biggest lie in all of Washington and in all of politics is that Republicans are the party of the rich. The truth is, the rich do great with big government. They get in bed with big government. The big banks get bigger and bigger and bigger under Dodd-Frank and community banks are going out of business. And, by the way, the consequence of that is small businesses canât get business loans, and it is that fundamental corruption that is why six of the 10 wealthiest counties in America are in and around Washington, D.C.
And let me give you a contrast to Washington cronyism. Some weeks ago, a woman named Sabina Loving testified at a hearing that I chaired in the Senate. Sabina Loving is an African-American single mom who started a tax preparation business in the south side of Chicago. She found a store front, she wanted to have her own business. She started a business.
But then the IRS promulgated new regulations targeting tax preparers. They did it under a more than 100-year-old statute called the Dead Horse Act. Now, this statute and the IRS in classic Washington crony fashion had exemptions for lawyers and big fancy accountants, but Sabina had to pay $1,000 an employee. It would have driven her out of business, and Ms. Loving sued the IRS. She took the Obama IRS to court, and she won, and they struck down the rule for picking the big guys over the little guys.
Yes. Now, letâs be clear, there is a role for the Federal Reserve â what the Fed is doing now is it is a series of philosopher- kings trying to guess whatâs happening with the economy. You look at the Fed, one of the reasons we had the financial crash is throughout the 2000s, we had loose money, we had an asset bubble, it drove up the price of real estate, drove up the price of commodities, and then in the third quarter of 2008, the Fed tightened the money and crashed those asset prices, which caused a cascading collapse. Thatâs why I am supporting getting back to rules-based monetary system not with a bunch of philosopher-kings deciding, but tiedâ¦
So let me be clear. I would not bail them out, but instead of adjusting monetary policy according to whims and getting it wrong over and over again and causing booms and busts, what the Fed should be doing is, number one, keeping our money tied to a stable level of gold, and, number two, serving as a lender of last resort.
Thatâs what central banks do. So if you have a run on the bank, the Fed can serve as a lender of last resort, but itâs not a bailout. It is a loan at higher interest rates. Thatâs how central banks have worked.
And Iâll point out â look, we had a gold standard under Bretton Woods, we had it for about 170 years of our nationâs history, and enjoyed booming economic growth and lower inflation than we have had with the Fed now.
We need to get back to sound money, which helps, in particular, working men and women. What Washington does â the people who are doing well in the Obama economy are those with power and influence in the Obama government. The people who (inaudible) working men and womenâ¦
So, Governor Kasichâ¦â¦why would you then bail out rich Wall Street banks, but not Main street, not Mom and Pop, not Sabina Loving?
But you just said an executiveâ¦â¦knows to step in and bail out a bank.
So you said youâd abandon philosophy and abandon principleâ¦â¦but what would you do if the bank was failing? So you â you would bail them out.
And, Maria, I will note, sheâs got a lot of experience, but her policies have proven disastrous. If you look at foreign policy, every region in the world has gotten worse. Under her leadership, we abandon the nation of Israel. Under her leadership, radical Islamic terrorism has been on to the rise. Under her leadership, and Obamaâs leadership, Iran is getting $100 billion dollars, and on the verge of getting a nuclear weapon.
Everything sheâs put her hand to, or has touched â and when we talk about the cronyism of Washington, Hillary Clinton embodies the cronyismâ¦
(BELL RINGING)
CRUZ:
â¦of Washington. And, Iâll give you an example of that, which is the Congressional exemption from Obamacare, which is fundamentally wrong, and Iâll tell you this, if Iâm elected president, I will veto any statute that exempts members of congress. The law should apply evenly to every American.
Maria, critically, when it comes to climate changeâ¦â¦Our â ourâ¦
