Well everyone on FR knows you are a real babe.

Too funny. Not too many on FR know me. And I never really bonded with anyone here, male or female; I'm talking friendship which is about all I can handle now, if that. I had a couple guy friends I met in news groups, put a little excitement in my life. I never wanted to meet them in real life, the one I did at first.

It was fun while it lasted. It's sad. The last one said I really helped him through a rough time (wasn't the first time I heard that) then dumped me when he met a real babe he used for a model. His book about them is on amazon. It was a fun couple of years, crazy, but fun, more than here lol.

He had been a helicopter pilot in Nam. He told some crazy stuff. This is more I remember him telling it, it's a long read but worth it. It was addressed to a guy who was for Kerry in the election, had been an advisor in Nam and was on Nightline.

It was from the photog of the babe before he got out. I can't name names and will have to change something because I don't want the person to know I posted this. I fished it out of google groups archives, Feb 2006. I didn't remember this many details but I see the next post is mine with munged id. To the end it's all quoted; I put some paragraphs in but that's enough.

>> Why didn't the reporters catch the

>> Cambodia error?

> > Another non-story in my book, and I would guess, there's also. After all, it > is a known fact that the (what Kerry commanded) were in Cambodia This is undoubtedly true.

I was in the Delta, the same region, and after I was there about 5 months, we made a flight of 5 helicopters to Takeo, which is deep in the mountains of Cambodia where we were flying for the Vietnamese to bring back prisoners which the Navy Seals and members of the Phoenix group had captured and were there in Cambodia. [The phoenix group had kill quotas..had to kill so many people each month and this later made Time magazine about a year after I had returned stateside.

We got them, got shot at the whole way. I was flight commander. We did not have any prisoners on my craft as it was all Vietnamese brass and their American counterparts. We were coming back at pretty high altitude and all of a sudden one of my crew, the door gunner started screaming...someone just fell out of one of their helicopters. I immediately radioed the chopper and that pilot started screaming that these gooks were crazy, that they had just roughed one of the prisoners up, threatened him, and threw him out the door. We all flew with open cargo doors, it was hot and unless it was really raining, that was standard procedure. While I was on the radio, my gunner screamed that "there goes another one, and this one was from a different chopper.

I got really upset and talked to my crew chief on the intercom and advised him to draw his 45 and have his gunner ready his M16 which they did. I then turned on the full bird colonel in the back to the intercom and advised that he needed to tell the vietnamese that there could be no more throwing the prisoners out. The Bird then spoke to the Vietnamese colonel who just about went ballistic on my copter. I then advised our colonel that if anymore were thrown out that my crew was instructed to immediately fire on the viet colonel. This really got out of hand as the Bird advised the vietnamese. My guys had guns pointed on the viet colonel and his aide. No more were thrown out.

When we arrived in Binh Tuy at the Naval base, the Naval CID as well as the MPs were waiting for us. I was immediately arrested as was my crew and two of my corresponding chopper pilots, those who were on the copters from which the prisoners were thrown.

There was a group of visiting senators at the base that day and naturally they wanted in on the show. We were not doing good in Nam at this time, and Thieu was President then. Things were so incredibly corrupt and the investigation of Westmoreland's Sgt Major was going on at that time.

Luckily for me I knew William Casey having flown him a few times and I was able to talk to him from Saigon. His aide was there within two hours and we were then reduced from being arrested to being detained. All shit broke loose on Binh Tuy as well as Cantho and we were threatened with court marshall

I was assigned an attorney from Saigon, and he was quite helpful. Charges were immediately dropped and the reason was clear. I was not the ranking officer by a long shot, but, as flight commander I could not be overruled in any matters of safety. As I was never under the command of the Viets and those were the only ones that were doing the throwing we were released. But it was so touch and go. Later this shit was written up along with the Phoenix group in the Time magazine article. I only flew with my MacV commander and the IV corps commander after than and was moved off base to Villa in downtown Cantho near the MACV headquarters. We were threatened several times through out the rest of my tour in Vietnam. But, I had great duty after that until Nixon order the invasion of the NVA in Southern Cambodia at Chu Chi. I was flight commander on the Mission Control aircraft on that mission for all army helicopters. We went in with a flight of over 100 choppers and we came out with less than 25. I had never even seen SAMs before that day. We lost over two hundred american troops that day.

I got the shit scared out of me. I only had a month left in country, I was short and whoever was there you know what I mean...we got really worried about making it. That night when we returned to Cantho, I went to see our administration sergeant and that evening he cut orders "for the commander" and three days later I was out of Vietnam. There are tons of ways to get out of Vietnam, but the easiest is to get a sergeant to cut the orders. Commanders rarely ever sign anything and at that time there were no computers so you left. You had a copy of the orders and there was one with the company. I went to finance and to the flight surgeon, got all my records and was in Saigon looking for a flight out of there. We first went to Guam where I spent two days on the beach, then got another flight to Hawaii where I spent almost a week. I could not get a military flight out of Hawaii as there were none going stateside so I got orders to catch a civilian flight and was in San Francisco within 10 hours. I rented a car in there and drove along the big sur to LA where I met up with my wife. We stayed in LA for a couple of weeks, and I then went home.

I had no orders to go anywhere. The Army was all messed up then. I went to the local recruiting station in Baton Rouge who got me hooked up with Administration and they asked me where I would like to be stationed. I opted for Germany and 30 days later I was in New Jersey catching a plane with my wife to go to Germany.

This was a long time ago and it is all to the best of my recollections.

But, the gist of it is this. You could do anything in the Armed forces if you had a sergeant who knew what the heck was going on. The longer you were in the Army the more that you learned that it was the enlisted men who ran the Army, not the officers. Officers come and go but not the enlisted man. He did get to politics once he made first sergeant and got to be perhaps Sergeant Major, but nobody has more power than the sergeants.

LOL.

My husband said he will not pull lever for Bush—he has never ever not voted—and our first election was for Ford.

Interestingly, IMHO both Bush and Kasich governed fairly well at State level, but it is their more recent views and plans for the future of the country that has soured me.

Before the passage of the 16th Amendment, the IRS did not exist.

Oh, my, our money even makes dogs sick now. ;-) Was anything said or posted earlier about Ben Carson’s latest proposal in favor of Statehood for Puerto Rico. And if for PR, then what about Washington, DC which has more residents than Vermont and Wyoming and can’t even spend its own tax money for garbage collection and motor vehicles when the federal government decides to shut down.

I’ve seen it. It is hopelessly inadequate.

For example, let’s say “Joe’s” business involves a lot of travel. Can he deduct or “expense” travel expenses? What are the rules, fair rules, for what is allowable or not?

What about depreciation of inventory? Just ignore it?

I can come up with dozens of these, but have to get to sleep soon...

He repeated ‘Department of Commerce’ - so we do not know his fifth choice.

He laughed about that on Fox News afterward. The fifth one was the most obvious IMHO, Education.

AND, to Rubio’s ridiculous give away - I would have replied - “What of those Americans who are childless?” I guess we are not “special enough” to not have our pockets picked clean by the federal socialists.

The problem with your post is, that Trump never said he and Putin had any sort of a meeting - in a green room, or anywhere - during the 60 Minutes show.

They were both featured on the same show. Trump said they were “stablemates”...for being on the same show (previously mentioned he was honored to be airing on same show with a world leader)....and, that “that went pretty well” (ratings).

No embellishment by Trump....only Snarly. Who, incidentally, did only meet Putin in a green room (ooops, that’s embarrassing :).

Efficient small businesses will kill larger businesses if tax was based on Gross Receipts. Because small outfits have lot less waste than large one. I worked for an outfit with 30-40 employees, another with 700 and third with 5000 employees.

Between 2 similar size businesses, the more efficient will be rewarded with bigger profit, as it should be. Behemoths like GE will never escape paying taxes like they do now.

Nope, that gem was omitted from tonight’s debate.

Of course, Jeb Bush and Marco Rubio have also endorsed statehood for the U.S. commonwealth.

ALmost all other polls have Trump ahead by YUGE margins. That dude resonates with common people like I have never seen before since Reagan.

Excuse me?! My mom was a maid, as were my two sisters. I was both a groundskeeper and a janitor. I now work in the construction industry, first as a “laborer” - and now I design upscale homes.

Please, stop acting like an elitist snob. At least Trump respects those people who work for him.

I like Cruz but not his tax plan. It would have been murder on my small business. Trump has a superior plan for jumpstarting the economy and creating jobs. Its more business friendly.

You’d think that since Jebberwacky is AT THE ROCK BOTTOM in EVERY poll - along with the Ohio mailman - that both of these two numskull losers would be shown the door. I cannot understand why they are allowed to remain in the race. They both absolutely suck on every topic. They are both loathed by the majority of Americans. Yet they continue to resurface, like a bad case of herpes.

Will you please find me the words [I WILL DEPORT ALL ILLEGALS] on Cruz^s web-site? I can not seem to find it!

How can a candidate be for something if he/she never utters any words to confirm it?

glee, I didn't see anything about it, but I could have missed it, as I got to this thread late, had some other distractions, and had to skip part of it so I can get to sleep soon. It's a good point though - the Puerto Rico stance from Dr. Carson does him serious damage, IMO.

Cruz has repeatedly called for border security. He has even joked that the 90,000 IRS agents he would eliminate could stand at the border.
