The two Republican presidential debates on the Fox Business Network are scheduled for 7 p.m. and 9 p.m. EST tonight. They are being held at the Milwaukee Theater in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
The 'kiddie table'at 7 p.m.: Former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee, Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal, New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie and former Pennsylvania Sen. Rick Santorum.
The main event at 9 p.m.: Donald Trump of New York, Dr. Ben Carson of Florida, Florida Sen. Marco Rubio, Texas Sen. Ted Cruz, former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush, Carly Fiorina of California, Ohio Gov. John Kasich, and Kentucky Sen. Rand Paul.
FBN described the debates and moderators:
The first debate will be one hour in length and moderated by FBN anchors Trish Regan, Sandra Smith & WSJ's Washington Bureau Chief Gerald Seib.
The second debate will span two hours and be moderated by FBN anchors Maria Bartiromo, Neil Cavuto and WSJ Editor-in-Chief Gerard Baker.
The debates will focus on the most important business and economic issues facing the United States including job creation, social security and taxes.
Hey, a real debate with real questions and answers. How refreshing. It really isn’t that hard.
My rankings of their performances tonight thus far:
1. Jindal
2. Santorum
3. Christie
4. Huckabee
Although I rank Christie third, he perhaps gains among his moderate constituency. Huckabee may be the only one tonight who doesn’t potentially help himself.
When I was re-financing a house a few years ago, the bank asked for my SS Award Letter. I asked what was that? They explained. Sure enough, in the original letter it says you have been “awarded” the following SS benefits. So, up front, the government acts like they are giving you something. I don’t look at it as an award.
Groan!
That was great - I’ve liked Jindal in all the debates.
And all the others followed along, pointing out they weren’t answering the question. Hilarious!
And the moderators weren’t nasty about it, like the CNBC moderators were.
They’ve learned their lesson.
Uh oh. The Republican’s figured out the game and shoved that BS question right back down the moderator’s throat.
OK boys...
Red head just put her foot in it...
Closing smarm about Reagan working with O’Neill...
Who is this person and who cares what she thinks...?
Until the "Who is your favorite Democrat" question.
Huckabee said he wanted questions that weren’t just about Donald Trump, but he is blowing it tonight.
Moderators have done well thus far. Fox Business is perhaps the biggest winner tonight.
Yes! And he was brought to Pennsylvania by the RINO Hilmans!
Not a surprise that the favorite democrat question came from the Wall Street Journal dweeb.
Agreed
He lost me the day he announced. He seems to make a living by running for something.
I wondered which one said that (doggie wanted ice cubes) so I missed some of it.
Jeb Bush @JebBush 13m13 minutes ago New pre-debate ritual: Bocce ball.
Yep, those four and several others are mostly dead-in-the-water. But if any of them are able to break out, I think they've got to tell us, convincingly, what they would do as president, not what they did as governor, or what some other DIW candidate didn't do as governor.
Pretty sure the “Hot Redhead” did...
