Turns out those of us who were questioning those rocket ahead polls, had the right suspicions.
I do all analysis of polls. Have all the polls from beginning of August, many in July. Monmouth is inconsistent to put it mildly. Am revising my methods for true anerage.
Take a few minutes to read this,to understand how the Incredible – Amazing – Almost, Well, Unbelievable: Ben Carson Skyrockets With Massive Surge in the rigged polls this past few weeks.
I have no way of knowing exactly what is going on, but it makes no sense to me whatsoever that Carson is polling like he is.
There just isn’t the groundswell for it.
He gets a thousand or two people to a book signing. Trump is absolutely mobbed everywhere he goes.
Marist has a new poll out that shows Republican race as 24-23 Carson over Trump nationally. How do these folks keep putting out this nonsense when so many folks are onto them.
I wonder if people who support Trump are hanging up on the people taking the surveys. I also wonder these polls which show Carson ahead have questions considered to be agenda driven. Which is why the people may be hanging up when called. The MSM networks and colleges seen to have the ones where Trump is behind, when it makes no sense. Has to be a reason more than just jimmied sampling.

OK… let’s see if I have this right:
Of the 401 “likely†voters in the SC GOP primary who were polled, 259 identified themselves as being evangelicals, which is about 65% of those polled (259/401=64.6%) and, according to the poll, of those 259 evangelicals, Carson was the “candidate of choice of about 33% which equates to about 85 people (259x.33=85.47).
BUT, if what I have read is correct, evangelicals compose only about 33% of the population of the State of SC, meaning that evangelicals are over represented in this poll by about 127 people (401x.33=132.33) and 259-132=127.
SO, if the number of evangelicals were fairly represented, it would have been about 132, and of that 132 Carson would get .33%, or about 44 votes from evangelicals, not the 85 above. (132x.33=44). Which is a loss of 41 votes.
Now, even if NONE of those votes went to Trump (and he stayed at 27% overall) Carson could drop from 28% to 18%, which is WAY behind Trump. (401x.28=112) (112-41=71) (71/401=17.8%)
Now, what were the Monmouth Poll results from August? Oh, yeah…
Trump 30%, Carson 15%
