Thank you for that! I guess private institutions have the right to do as they please, but state-sponsored colleges and universities should not be allowed to diminish the educational process with athletics with it’s attendant unworthy faux students. It’s all just more rah-rah and it should not be allowed. One of our kids went to Boston University. Cost about $200k. And you know what, while taking in this kind of tuition money, they were spending everything they could get their hands on on athletic facilities. Our child was studying music. Their practice rooms were in the basement of a former auto dealership on Comm Ave. that was a sweat box.

Why is music, or any of the fine arts, more ‘attendant’ to the educational process than athletics...?
