Too bad they can't cross into Israel and fly out from there without delay.

Monarch Airlines was going to send 29 flights to Sharm today to get their citizens out.
Egypt has only allowed 8 to land, and ordered one that supposedly had British Commandos aboard to divert.

This sounds like one of those situations where, if you are a tourist, doing nothing is the best option. If there are no imminent terrorist attacks on the resorts, simply extend your stay and don’t try to fly out until the current panic has subsided.

BC report on this cluster ****.
http://www.bbc.com/news/uk-34743388
Tahir Zarif described scenes of confusion: “Thompson unloaded a full coach an hour ago and have moved everyone back into the hotel. Apparently there are around 1,500 people waiting to get into the airport,” he said.
Passengers have been advised to only bring essential items such as passports, car and house keys, money, medicines, and mobile phones.
He said the government was making arrangements to ensure the luggage would be returned to passengers in a week to 10 days.

Egypt is a total $hithole. Why anyone would voluntarily go there is beyond me. Although the sunsets on the north coast are amazing!

I have. There are some very beautiful and historic sites situated in now-Muslim countries.
However, I would not do so today.

Not only that, but unlike in Eilat, you don’t have to worry about getting knifed by fanatical Jewish terrorists.

Sharm el-Sheikh is one of the best scuba diving and snorkeling sites in the world. I was quite satisfied with the Great Barrier Reef, Freemantle, Guam and Hawaii.
