Carson now admits his friend named "Bob," who he tried to stab (Bob was saved by his belt buckle!), no longer exists as Bob. Wrong name!

Donald J. Trump ‏@realDonaldTrump 7m7 minutes ago

With Ben Carson wanting to hit his mother on head with a hammer, stab a friend and Pyramids built for grain storage - don't people get it?

Donald J. Trump ‏@realDonaldTrump 5h5 hours ago

"@Rick_Sa: @greta Interesting presidential race; Carson tries to beat his mom with a hammer, and @realDonaldTrump beats Carson in the polls!

"@DeeMcNa: @FoxNews Silent majority did not try to kill their mothers, like Ben Carson, but wants America rebuilt by only one capable:TRUMP"

Donald J. Trump ‏@realDonaldTrump 12h12 hours ago

The Carson story is either a total fabrication or, if true, even worse-trying to hit mother over the head with a hammer or stabbing friend!

If Carson is the GOP nominee, he has a decided advantage over Trump and Cruz. I think both Trump and Cruz have a path to win as well, don't get me wrong.

Trump could certainly be a wild-card with the union, independent, and blue collar male voters. I think his message and tone appeals to those groups, and I can see him making deals with some of the union bosses who are pissed about how Obama and the Dems have stopped the pipeline project over their dedication to the crazy environmental positions and interests. I think he (Trump) might be able to pull union voters much better than Cruz or Carson can, and I think shoring up evangelical voters and peeling off union and blue collar voters from the Dems is his path to victory. My fear is that he will have a difficult time winning women who are middle of the road independent or lean conservative. I know my wife has voted GOP in every presidential election she has voted in, but I wonder if she would vote for Trump. She thinks he is a loudmouth buffoon and cannot believe the GOP might nominate him.

Cruz is a true believer (and I will have absolutely no problem voting for him and in fact will campaign very hard for him with friends if he is the nominee). But he does not seem to get any traction in the middle. He might, who knows, but to date he is a conservative firebrand who may not get many crossover votes. Hope I am wrong.

Carson's style is so contrasted with Cruz and Trump. Trump is in-your-face and Cruz is a fabulous conservative speaker who makes conservatives jump up and down and clap and say "Amen"! However, that same red-meat conservative appeal that is so motivating to conservatives like me - I love it - is a turn-off (or at least not a turn-on) to the middle and lean voters in each party. Carson's style is calm and measured, yet he routinely defends staunch conservative positions on abortion and gun control in a calm and thoughtful style that it attracts those middle and lean voters for each party.

My theory is, if he were the nominee, he would shore up most of the GOP's Trump, Rubio, Cruz, and other camps (not all but most) because he is conservative enough and most all GOP voters will prefer him to Hillary. If he gets to 90% of the GOP vote on election day, I can see him pull 16% or more of the Dem vote and >60% of the independent vote. Like it or not, he is poised to win 30% or more of the African American vote and break through on that bloc like no other GOP candidate in the field can.

First mistake by Carson, revealing true or untrue tales of his violent acts as a kid both in speeches over the years, in his books and articles, and on TV.

Second mistake by Carson, going on CNN this morning to defend himself. It turned out to be a half-hour sans commercials of a duel between himself and the gotcha bitch grilling him like a criminal.

Third mistake by Carson....shooting himself in the foot by putting himself in the position of revealing his own past violent behavior and getting in trouble for it now....or putting himself in the position of admitting the stories were fiction and getting in trouble for being a pathological liar now. He's damned either way.

Whatever the background of this man is, I don't know. I DO know that fanning the flames in tabloid style right now is CNN. The attacks on Carson yesterday and today are brutal and ruthless...and excerpts from the dismal morning interview will be running all day virtually every half-hour or hour or so. Neither Carson or the CNN Torquemada came out well any way you look at it. The viciousness of the CNN cast of inquisitors and slanderers is sickening to watch.

We should all abhor our air waves being used for such sickness as is being evinced by this vile marxist network.....no matter which candidate it's trying to destroy.

That being said, Carson is now through...by his own hand combined with the calculated hand of CNN that is set on a course to destroy all GOP candidates and insure the election of Hillary or some other Dem marxist if she tanks.

Trump is 100% correct in remarking on Carson's strange background and even stranger recent non-conservative policy statements. He (Trump) must publicly disassociate himself from the doctor's murky past and his increasingly unstable policy pronouncements....he has no choice. It's political reality that these men are COMPETITORS for the same seat in the high-stakes political arena.

Furthermore, as an addendum, Trump is the only one that can deal with the napalm flame throwers at CNN and other liberal media outlets, both now and over the long haul....and who can successfully fire back at them with howitzers and blowing them to bits.

Fasten your seat belts, it's going to be a bumpy ride with the leftist media's determination to pick off all GOP candidates, one-by-one.

Carson is currently being reported as Trump’s closest competition. If you want to win a race, you need to beat your competition. No other way around it.If you play nice, you lose. I don’t want someone that plays nice all the time like GW Bush (never standing up for himself). We’ve had that and we were all screaming about it.It’s time to fight for our country’s survival!

Dr Carson is not the enemy the left is.

Short term gain- trump launching childish attacks on Dr Carson then Sen Cruz

Long term results- trump alienating Carson/Cruz supporters who vote in the primary.

If you carefully watch the Trump rallies he’s not having a problem with women. That’s a myth. At his book release presser he pointed out the fact the Trump tower construction was managed by a woman, that women make up 50% of the executive positions at Trump, and that the women get paid more than the men do.

Ivanka us going on the campaign trail soon.

The support of women won’t be a problem.

Then there’s the issue of who has what it will take to actually fix problems. Trump is the most qualified in that arena.
No one else running comes close.

Rules of Trump:

Trump doesn’t attack unless attacked first.

Trump doesn’t attack with fabricated information. Trump has/obtains excellent intel.

When will the Trump haters begin to understand this??

Btw, buh-bye Ben.

As I see it, the media recognizes that Carson COULD beat Hitlary. Trump was, and continues to be a threat to Hitlary as well. Now which one, or both, do they have to destroy to get their favorite (Hitlary) elected. The media thinks Trump will self-destroy but not Carson. Time will tell but you can rest assured, the media is going to continue to do their damdest to destroy ANY republican candidate. Today they are after Carson with a vengeance, its his turn in the barrel.

Exactly, he should never have mentioned them in the first place especially when your running for president. First rule - KEEP YOUR MOUTH SHUT!

There is a large misunderstanding here. (Disclaimer: I'm a Trump-supporting freeper. I've also met Carson a couple of times and followed his career since 1997.)

Ben Carson told the story of the belt buckle and his adolescent rage as part of his biography Gifted Hands, back around 1997 or so, when his public persona was mainly three things: 1) Christian, 2) neurosurgeon, and 3) role model and philanthropist for black children. Those stories as he told them were part of what led up to his conversion experience, when he became aware that his rage was destructive, and he sought out Christian scripture to try to understand and heal his behavior. He told this story, and has repeated it from time to time, with the purpose of trying to inspire troubled youth that change is possible, healing is possible, and choosing a wise path in life can help a person end up with a good career -- with himself as an example.

Now, of course, the media is having a field day with stuff that was never intended to be considered as a campaign promise or boast. Far from it.

As for the pyramid grain story, again it was from years ago in the context of his being a Christian believer speaking to an audience of young people, and it has been cherry-picked by the media to make him look unscientific. Yet the physical possibility does exist that those enormous structures may have served some other purpose than tombs. He does believe that the real Joseph existed, and to those who are familiar with the Biblical account, Joseph stored grain for the people of Egypt that carried them over a 7-year drought. That's a lot of grain, requiring large storage facilites.

This story has relevance to those Americans who believe the Bible contains various historic truths. I fail to see why his innocuous speculation that the pyramids could be evidence that the Joseph story is true should cause such alarm; but as we know, the media is virulently allergic to any suggestion that the Bible may contain truth.

What he did not do is use these stories as a basis of why he should be elected; rather, he is being vetted and attacked for any and all details of his biography dug up now that require more than a sound bite to understand in context.

Carson seems to be a compulsive liar who tells untruths about even little, seemingly inconsequential things that he is supposed long past.

See post 67 above.

Has Cruz worked in private sector, where every one survives by being competitive and productive enough to eek out a profit?

But my real problem with Cruz is he is in pockets of his rich donors who order him to push the cheap labor express of cheap foreign workers.

We'll be waiting a long time for that perfect man amongst us to appear as a candidate. We must do the best we can with what we've got.

What all conservatives should be impressed with is Trump’s brutal efficiency in KO’ing his opponents. While Ben did a lot of this to himself, Trump did warn everyone that ‘things’ would be coming out on Ben. Everyone who challenges Trump gets torched. First Jeb, then Fiorina, then Rubio, now Ben. This is what we have all been waiting for. Someone who fights to win. Have no doubts that Trump will take Ted apart when the time is right over H-1 visas, the Corker vote, TPP and being vice chair of the NRSCC. While Ted is good on a great many issues he’s weak on several that matter. Trump is the only one who will destroy Hillary when the time is right. Trump is a winner and winners do whatever it takes to win.

I’m finding it difficult to feel too sorry for Carson. I think he made his own bed. I agree with you, Leni, that Trump is the only one who can stand up to the vicious media.

I don’t believe this. I don’t think Trump would hit a guy who’s taking “incoming” from the press like Carson has been. Would be wise for him to defend the guy.

The standard comeback is that they are NOT using the public airwaves - it is cable. Actually, that is not technically true, since they are using satellite relay, which uses much higher frequencies but are still part of the public ether... presuming any of it belongs to the public any longer.

The ignorance is on the part of the libs, including Hildebeest... There is no universal agreement that the pyramids were ever used as tombs and it is possible that the pyramids are much older than once believed. It is almost certain that the Sphinx could be as much as 10,000 years old in origin.

Thanks for the clarification on "public air waves" vs. cable.

And, may I hasten to add....the vile, pernicious leftists at CNN are inhaling and exhaling the same air as we, thereby polluting it....ergo, I consider the whole lot of them an environmental public menace.

Someone report them to AlGore.
