Donald Trump: If Ben Carson hosted ‘SNL’ nobody would watch
Yahoo Political News ^ | 11/5 | Matt Bai

Donald Trump is prepping for his upcoming role as host of “Saturday Night Live” the only way he knows how: by boasting about his ratings — and insulting his Republican opponents.

The real estate mogul, who was replaced as host of NBC’s “Celebrity Apprentice” following his controversial comments about Mexican immigrants, says it’s no surprise NBC asked him to host “SNL.”

“You’re never at war when you get great ratings,” Trump said Wednesday on CNN’s “New Day.” “Nobody gets ratings like me.”

#10 Jackie Mason is correct!
Plus Ben is a democrat in republican clothing.

While Trump is right, he shouldn’t be attacking Carson with personal attacks. By engaging in this type of behavior he seeks to alienate Carson supporters that he will need if he wants to win the nomination.

Wow. You realize that (a) I quoted the very same language (re: Trump dismissing Carson’s criticism) in the post you were responding to; (b) that quote is the reporter’s description of what Carson said, not what Carson actually said; and (c) I quoted Carson’s actual statement in a previous post. Carson was not attacking Trump. Carson was saying that he (Carson) would not go on SNL because he (Carson) thought that running for president is too “serious” to justify going on a late night comedy show.

And Trump responded by calling him a loser. How Presidential.

Probably not a totally accurate statement regarding Ben on SNL, but close since sleepy Ben doesn’t appear to have the personality for the over-the-top SNL type of humor (though, a good skit for Ben on SNL would be him dressed up as Joseph directing grain being loaded into the great HOLLOW pyramids, you know, for storage.)

still, trump’s statement would certainly be true of almost any of the other candidates, pretty much all of whom are below 10% and most below 5%, though I MIGHT tune in to see how badly personality-like-a-bump-on-a-log Yeb would bomb.

“Yes, many people find this refreshing and amusing at first, but eventually the people who vote in GOP primaries will have grown tired of it.”

Well, FWIW, to the contrary, I find Trump more honest and spot on each and every day. So I guess you can continue to give Little Yebbie and his mini-me, Marco more of your hard-earned bucks if you like, but it’s not going to help elther of these political turds! Then, there’s always Kasich and Crispy!

For all the pansies who think Donald is too mean, there are many, many more who appreciate is bravado and willingness to fight. They will come out to vote. In droves.

It’s so interesting to watch people get emotionally attached to stuff like this about Trump and ignore the fact he’s the only candidate pointing out things like corporate inversion and Obama’s lap dog Yellen.

Yellen -> https://youtu.be/ZSlXkOX6n3s?t=1890

Carl Icahn on Yellen; https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Mba7SynRtVA&feature=player_detailpage#t=751

Trump’s tax plan specifically addresses the corporate inversion issue. Trump is THE ONLY candidate talking about that. Imagine 2.5 trillion in real, not printed, money dropped into businesses in US. Imagine what that would do for the economy coupled with the 15% corporate tax rate.

Carl Icahn has been asked and accepted Sec Treasury. Trump and Carl are already rolling on the corporate inversion issue; http://carlicahn.com/needed-legislation-letter/

Carl on corporate inversion; https://youtu.be/Mba7SynRtVA?t=214

Trump on Singer, Rubio’s superpacker -> https://youtu.be/9mOxWDBIAwk?t=967

But people really will ignore all this and whine “Trump made fun of Ben Carson so I can’t support him”. That is foolish, and shooting yourselves in the foot. Would people really be willing to let the bigger issues of 19 trillion debt and the country going down the tubes go just because the only person with a demonstrated capability of fixing them said bad things about another candidate??

The US stands at a fork in the road, Trump is one side, all the other candidates are the other. Trump is the junkyard dog, the bulldozer, the only one with a ghost of a chance at effectively doing something about the problems the country faces. Writing him off will be writing the country off.

Mark my words.

But you’re proving my point. Trump should SHUT UP about the stupid insults and be talking about all the things you linked to. THAT would get the attention of a heck of a lot more people - the people besides us here who are starting to ignore whatever Trump says.

I am too. I clearly recall how much we wanted to see him get beat. And Clay said he got the idea from watching Gorgeous George the wrestler. Trump, I think, understands this. He’s a bragger, but a bragger who wins, and does what he says he’ll do.

It’s uncanny, but he’s been right almost 100%. For example, of late he said it’s a bad idea of Russia to go into Syria, and it’s proving true, and yet... NOW WE’RE GOING IN THERE?!!!!!

I suspect that all these “Trump shockers” are carefully calculated to inoculate Trump against what is sure to be a very nasty general election. It’s a mirror image of what the Clintons did in the 1990s. There were so many bimbo eruptions, scandals and lies that eventually people tuned it out. “Just the Clintons being Clintons” is what most people started saying after a while.

The deal is this..... if Trump (or anyone else) is going to dethrone the washington cartel.... what he is saying about Carson is nothing. It is going to take a mean spirited, twitter tweeting, school yard fighter, destroyer, take no prisoners, arrogant, fighter to take down the cartel. It will take someone who can go to the american public with “ratings” and make his case. I’m not sure even Trump is up to the task. There is no doubt that Carson isn’t. Washington will run right over Carson.

I hadn't seen the light with regard to Carson, but you know what, it's starting to make a certain kind of sense...  well sort of.

Since he's the most qualified to be president, it only stands to reason....

President Carson Cabinet

Vice President: David Larson, Ophthalmologist, internationally renown

Department of State, Letitia Johnson, President of General Practitioners of America
Department of Justice, Phil Simpson, Open heart Surgeon at the Mustard Clinic, internationally renown
Department of Treasury, Pyllis Morton, Orthopedic Surgeon, recognized as one of America's best
Department of Defense, Abner Tripleplay, Board Certified Pediatrician, with the largest practice in the United States
Department of Interior, Brenda Obledo, One of the nation's leading Gynecologists
Department of Labor and Commerce, Brian Sung, Head of Men's Studies as James Flopkins

In non-cabinet level jobs

FBI Director: Alfred Bonaventure, Ophthalmic Surgeon
IRS Commissioner: Tina Jackson, Orthodontic Surgeon at Sam Sneed Medical Center (Serving under Phyllis Morton)
UnderSecretary of the Navy: Lloyd Bratwurst, Leading Internist at the Delta Organic Medical Group
UnderSecretary of the Army: Tran Veyoung, Internationally renown Acupuncturist
Press Secretary: Kate Slimstein, Office Manager for Debbie Stilton, Nutritionist

Speaker of the House: Fang gNiong Blek, Surgeon specializing in organ transplants

Senate Majority Leader: Undecided at the moment, Internists, Neurosurgeons, and Hip Replacement Specialists will be considered

This lampoon of Carson was inspired by ASA Vet who has presented a reasoned cabinet proposal for Trump...  LINK

...and WilliamIII for making a post to me that gave me the idea.

None of the people listed are real.

What critics always seem to miss is the fact Trump does talk about the things I link - like 99% of the time. His pressers and rallies prove that beyond any doubt. Sure he sometimes says things he probably shouldn’t say but it’s only like 1% of what he does say. It’s that petty 1% of his words that gets blown up just like on this thread that makes no sense. That 1% is a very foolish reason for anyone to say I’ll ignore the 99% and not support/vote for him. It will be to their own detriment and the detriment of the country.

I like Carson, I like Cruz, but Trump is uniquely qualified to take the lead with what needs to be done. On the ground, in the arena, no one else will come close.

“For example, of late he said it’s a bad idea of Russia to go into Syria, and it’s proving true, and yet... NOW WE’RE GOING IN THERE?!!!!!”

Trump has been pointing out how stupid it is for Obama to announce to ISIS and the world “we are sending 50 special operations soldiers into Syria”.

No other candidate is breathing a word about what Trump calls the stupid predictability of our elitist political class.

Don’t look to seeing 4 years of this krap.

I don't think you will have to. Hillary will win the Presidency. However .. Trump will say things to Hillary and about Hillary that Cruz or the other candidates won't say. So that may be comforting to some.

You know, at some point The Donald is going to have to rise up above these petty insults
_________________________________________________________________________________________________________

Ain’t that the truth. That’s why he’s getting his ass kicked in Iowa in the polls. Once he loses there he’s going down hill and he will NOT be the nominee. That’s a shame, but, he brought it on himself. I was for him initially, but now, I’m all in for Cruz. Trump can kiss my ass on both sides.

You know, you’re right about that. Wonder why? I am cringing at the idea of us sending troops back over there and what will happen to them, if one is captured.
