Russia and Egypt on Thursday dismissed suggestions by Britain and the United States that a bomb was likely to have brought down a Metrojet flight packed with Russian vacationers coming home from an Egyptian resort, saying the claim was premature.
A spokesman for Russian President Vladimir Putin, Dmitry Peskov, insisted that aviation investigators were working on all possible theories as to why the Airbus A320-200 carrying 224 people crashed Saturday in Egypt's Sinai Peninsula, killing everyone on board. He said naming just one possibility was mere speculation.

Some background info.
U.S. intelligence has intercepted messages from ISIS members talking about bringing down the Russian plane in Egypt, but the Egyptian Ministry of Civil Aviation said there is no evidence yet to support the bomb theory.
Meanwhile, a top British official calls a bomb blast a “significant possibility.” The disaster killed all 224 people on board after it took off from Sharm el-Sheikh. Allen Pizzey reports from Cairo.

No one said definitively. It is important to act now if a bomb is even possible. They don’t want more planes blown out of the sky.
Interesting that for 14 years next week, the immediate narrative after a plane goes down has been “No terrorist activity is suspected”, until yesterday, when Hussein’s Fundamentally Transformed America and others suddenly strongly suspect ISIS.
UK and US are ramping this up way too fast
seems like Pig boy Cameron and Jug Ears obama are itching for popular support to jump into miitary action in Syria .. To avenge Mother Russia’s loss of course ... And will use claims of intelligence of impending similar IS Doooom on a western airliner if they don’t invade Syria by air and by land and try to take away Putin’s momentum there
Almost too convenient, isn’t it?
The guy who knows what up is Putin. Watch him.
Also, the title is kind of misleading. They are not dismissing anything. They are considering all possibilities just as the U.S. and U.K. Are doing.
No. The immediate response was that it was not terrorism. As facts have been gathered they are now grudgingly saying it might have been a bomb. I don’t think they even used the terrorism word.
Why wouldn't Russia jump on this bomb theory. It would give them an excuse to “Unleash hell”. The fact that they aren't speaks volumes to me.
But what do I know.
It was an explosion though, right?
I saw a report on CNN last night that bodies had metal fragments in them and burns.
Russia dismisses the idea that it was a bomb yet says it iabout to unleash the forces of hell on ISIS in retaliation. Are they assuming a missile? an American supplied (advertently or inadvertently) missile?

Paging ISIS leadership in Syria. Please pick up the white courtesy phone. Your flights to Turkey are ready for boarding... Please be sure to have your western- issued boarding passes.
Your clueless minions are about to be pounded into sand by jets of multiple countries competing in the “sand people wipeout sweepstakes,” as you VIPs depart the arena. There are plenty more Allu Akbar minions where you are going to.
It was a good run boys, and thanks for service rendered. But if you will now vacate the Syrian cities and deserts, more “moderate” rebels will be brought in to be trained to replace you and continue the armed coup against Assad.
You can keep the IS brand and your flags, they may be used in other locations where islamist mercenaries are needed.
I read all parties as saying the same thing just from different perspectives. The US and UK perspective is about deciding whether it is safe to have their airplanes fly in and out of that location. Russia is being careful because they must answer to the families of the dead. They have no motive to jump to any conclusion. They are already bombing ISIS so they need no additional excuse.
All parties are saying it is too early to say definitively.
They can dismiss all they want. ISIS done it. Bomb? High powered Russian-made missile? Whatever. Russia and Egypt don’t want to face ISIS on the ground, at least not for a while. Neither does anybody else.
Russia did not dismiss the idea that it was a bomb. They said they are considering every possibility in their investigation.
Here's the US ‘President’ dead set against a single US citizen defending him/herself HERE, with a gun...yet is determined to deploy our guys in the ME to defend our enemy Vlad (who doesn't WANT or expect any US inereference) ....Really?
The expression ‘half-cocked’ comes to mind ...There are other expressions too, but not allowable here.
I believe the Brits and US....Russia and Egypt have a vested interest to cover it up
Russia has always been poised to unleash hell on ISIS as its battle plan progressed from western Syria to central and Eastern Syria
They have been doing an effective job
But now
The difference here is that using this downed Russian airliner, Cameron and obama have coordinated their talking points to join the battle, ( without Russian coordination) now having an excuse of “ intelligence” indicating that “ ISIS” is a direct threat to US and UK national security ... And less than 48 hours after obama announced plans to put boots in the ground. What timing.
Putin is not buying wha they are selling for obvious reasons.
The Egyptian economy and international perceptions of its security are convenient collateral damage.
The Russians have been assisting Syrian and Iranian IRGC troops on the ground vs IS with air support, and making steady gains.
Russia and Assad’s Army just secured a 4th FOB in Tiyas and Russia has deployed HINDS to central Syria within better combat range of ISIS strongholds in Palmyra and Raqqa, where the air tempo is steadily rising
A disinformation campaign aimed at Putin to undermine his public support in Russia.
