Hey Gina. Try living in Miami, Houston, Phoenix and most other areas of the southern US in the summer without air conditioners. Not possible without some people dying.

As a matter of fact, years ago on the front page of the Wall Street Journal, there was an article that claimed Houston would never have developed into a major metropolitan city without air conditioners. The heat and humidity was just too oppressive and stifling humidity to make it livable.

About ten years ago, Paul Krugman of the NYSlimes, was another one who called for the country to eliminate air conditioners. He got no support from anybody who liked to live and work in comfort.
