Before Senator Ted Cruz (R-TX) electrified conservatives with his denunciation of liberal media bias at the GOP presidential debate last week, he took a little-noticed position on a major crime bill before the Senate that set him apart from the politically powerful Koch brothers. Taking the side of law-and-order conservatives on an issue that could emerge as a major focus of the 2016 presidential campaign, Cruz came out against the Sentencing Reform and Corrections Act (S. 2123) on the grounds that the legislation, which will retroactively reduce the sentences of thousands of federal prison inmates, could lead to the release of violent criminals, some convicted of using weapons while engaged in other crimes. He said the Senate bill would release “illegal aliens with criminal convictions†when a “major crime wave†is already sweeping the nation.
In an extraordinary development, the Koch brothers decided to publicly go after Cruz. Echoing the views of the libertarian billionaires, whose network of conservative advocacy groups was planning to spend $889 million on the 2016 campaign, Mark Holden, Senior Vice President & General Counsel of Koch Industries, Inc., issued a statement denouncing the Texas senator by name. He said, “We are disappointed that some members, including Senator Cruz, who have supported the need for reform and been strong supporters of the Bill of Rights, did not support this bill.â€

I’d rather get rid of the federal sentencing guidelines.
Perhaps this is the reason no ad time has been purchased by the Cruz super pacs - Koch brothers influence (?).
I predict the Koch Brothers are about to be transformed into heroes of the left.

At the end of the day, the Koch Bros. are as bad for America as is George Soros. They can take their megabucks and find a way to shove every last one of them up their own a$$es!
At this point, being rejected by the Koch brothers is an endorsement.
There no such thing as a fiscal conservative/social libertarian. When you divorce morality from society, fiscal conservatism goes down the drain as well.
Fiscal conservatism is a moral position.

So easy for people like him and his bosses to say, when they live in the most secure neighborhoods in the country, surrounded by well trained, funded, and more importantly staffed police departments, and are surrounded by a massive personal security apparatus. These people aren’t affected by the crime wave. They are so insulated from all of it, so none of it is a real concern to them. However, let one of them suffer the same fate as the Petit family did in Cheshire, Connecticut and I’d bet my last $1 that they’d singing a different tune.

It’s also retroactive law, which is prohibited by the Constitution.

Charles Koch is the two conservative of the brothers. David is as liberal as George Soros. Both he and Rubio’s new sugar daddy Paul Singer gave millions and millions for the sodomite “marriage” cause in America. Without mega bucks from liberal creeps like them there would be no such thing as sodomite “marriage”. It would have never made it to the Supreme Court.
Cruz is right. Barry’s already letting out scores of violent felons. More will only make the situation worse.
