US Special Forces deployed as ‘human shields’ to salvage terror assets in Syria
RT ^ | Nov 1 2015 | Finian Cunningham

Obama’s decision to send Special Forces into Syria is being widely viewed as a US military escalation in the country. The troop dispatch also signals that the US trying to forestall Russian successes in wiping out Washington’s regime-change assets in Syria.

In short, the US Special Forces are being used as “human shields” to curb Russian air strikes against anti-government mercenaries, many of whom are instrumental in Washington’s regime-change objective in Syria.

First of all, we need to view a host of developments, including the hastily convened “peace talks” in Vienna, as a response by the US and its allies to the game-changing military intervention by Russia. That intervention, beginning on September 30, has not only dealt massive blows to militants, it has completely changed the balance of forces to give the Assad government the upper hand in the war against foreign-backed extremists. That, in turn, has sent the US-led powers trying to topple Damascus into disarray.

I hear that they will be working with Kurds in Syria. Assad has a deal with the Kurds, any city that they take from ISIS they can keep. Syria is going to have an autonomous Kurdish region. If this is accurate there shouldn’t be any conflict between the Russians and our troops.

I'm thinking pretty unlikely...Obama and Erdogen are practically butt buddies...Isis and Al Qaeda there in Syria are Obama's shock troops...Obama refuses to give any military equipment to the Kurds to fight ISIS...

Obama gives multi millions of dollars worth of military equipment to his Al Qaeda freedom fighters in Syria and they then transfer the equipment and weapons to ISIS...And Obama just recently said he's giving them half a billion more...

I'm guessing (like others) that Obama is wanting some of these guys to get killed by Russian bombs so he will have an excuse to invade Syria on a much larger scale...

It seems that most of the Syria “Hard News” that we are getting these days - like this article - is coming from RT. As a result it would seem reasonable for us to question the validity of the source.

The article is presented not as "hard news" but as an opinion piece. The views expressed are the author's not the news network, there's even a disclaimer at the bottom of the article.

I don't happen to agree with the author's conclusions about the purpose behind the American special forces presence, but the part about planeloads of jihadis flying out of Syria to go fight for Saudi Arabia in Yemen has the ring of truth. I doubt you'll hear much about that from government controlled western media either.

Salted and peppered

But RT and Sputnik are currently the best way to follow the war , the international responses, and the exposed idiocy of our regime

Russia issued a special warning to certain assets in the region to get out of the way before they launched the air war - this was open source but I would not be surprised if there are special communications among warrior elites based on past contacts and respect for their trade

What case could Kerry make to the UN?
The Syrian government recognized by the UN is President Assad’s
When did the US seek or gain Syrian government or UN approval to insert US military forces into Syria ? Under what protections will those US forces operate?

When did the UN give the US permission to remove President Assad by military force- or any other means? The UN investigated the CW attack in 2013 and found considerable evidence it was launched by the FSA, not Assad - however the UN was not given the role of determining guilty party, only confirming that an attack occurred, How ridiculous.

The Turks will never permit this. Never.

Any ‘safe buffer zone” will simply be a training ground for US Turkish Qatari and Saudi funded proxy ( foreign mercenary) islamist attacks on Russia and Assad

Ironic to realize that in my lifetime Pravda has come to report more truth than the NYT

What a disgrace and all being done because Bad Vlad showed Obama to be the lilly livered homo that he really is. Obama could care less about sending Special Forces into a meat grinder. They are virtually all-white with a few Hispanics so no big deal if they get killed.

STAY SAFE GUYS!!!

I was amazed that it took until you posted for someone to discuss RT as a source. Obama is so vile we don’t even question a Russian news source?

Yeah, pretty much.

EVERYTHING obama does either:

a) Weakens America/Americans
b) Distances America's allies
c) Strengthens America's enemies
d) Attacks Christianity
e) Serves Islam
f) Harms Israel
Or some combination of the above.
There are NO counter examples.

Bryan Suits was saying this on his show last night. He’s got buddies in the special ops community that he features, anonymously, on his radio show and he’s not one to exaggerate so we’ll have to see how it plays out.

Turkey wouldn’t be happy with a virtual Kurdish state within Syria’s borders but there may not be much that they can do about it with Russia backing Syria.

It’s just more evidence that the Middle East and the Balkans are a hornet’s nest best left alone.

And now I'm seeing sites that claim Putin is polling his allies to see if they would agree with using nuclear weapons to take out ISIS...Don't know if there's any truth to it...Major news should pick up on it today if it is legitimate...
