Newt Gingrich made a similar comment in the 2012 election cycle. He didn’t last a month after insisting he would stay in the campaign until the bitter end:

As I recall, Adelson cut off his money spigot to Gingrich. Newt packed it in soon after that.
I’d love to see Jeb quit before the voting starts but I doubt it will happen.
