Welcome to the war. As I posted earlier:
So I'd like to ask for some prayers for the rest of the week for comfort and some peace. Also we will be at NCI (Maryland) on the 10th for PET and CT scans, plus meetings with the Oncologist and a surgeon, so prayers for safe travel and a good meeting with the pros so we can come up with a good game plan going forward.
So much for our grand plans. I'll be released on the 16th and we'll fly straight to Baylor in Houston to meet with a great surgeon. This week We did manage to get one CT scan done. the rest of the time has been spent on Pain management and nausea control, a long slow process to get me off IV drugs and onto oral meds so I can at least travel. what happens after tuesday is in Gods hands. The care here has been exceptional and I thank God for all the nurses and Doctors who are keeping me going. They have managed to drain off another 6 total liters of fluid which has really helped but the insidious crap has compartmentalized which means it's more like a sponge that a pocket of fluid, so they had to go in several different areas with a mesh like wire, tear all the pockets up, then drain. It's changed from a yellow/green fluid to a cranberry juice cocktail color. The one CT scan showed the stomach tumor has grown larger than ever and pretty much shut down food intake to my stomach, the caking/thickness had increased, but has not spread anywhere else, but the immediate concern for me is just getting enough nutrients to get a feeding tube installed ASAP to the end of my stomach just past the tumor into my small intestines, so I can be stabilized enough for surgery or whatever the next step will be. Good news is my intestines are in good shape, they just need something to do. Did have several good (kinda loose) bowel movements today for the first time since Tuesday. (Take the good stuff whatever it is!) Current Chemo treatment is out the window. Will try to get more info out in the next day or two. I know, ABSOLUTELY know Gods got this so we'll pull through. As for the prayers, keep them rolling! I know this is a little scattered and missing some answers to some other questions, but as they say, we were "overtaken by events."
Thanks All and God Bless you ALL!,
Jeff and Lisa.
Mrs Infool7 and I will keep you and Lisa in our prayers, especially at Mass tomorrow morning.
