MARCO RUBIO BLAMES THE VICTIMS: FOREIGN TECH WORKERS MORE QUALIFIED THAN AMERICANS I certainly hope this communist pissant makes this his campaign slogan.
If not, we should. Every day, every venue.

Sorry, but Rubio is correct. Go to any university or college and visit the different departments. The math, science, and computer science departments will be half filled with foreign student. American student can be found in great numbers in the history, literature, social science, and the African-american studies departments. American students donât want to do the hard work that it takes to get a technical degree. And that is the truth. This article and discussion is not about those students in other fields. It is about Americans with STEM degrees, compared to foreigners with similar degrees.

Then why do we graduate twice as many Americans with STEM degrees each year than find STEM jobs?
The reason so many foreign students are in the US now is because A) Our universities are held in high regard, and B)Our universities recruit foreign students for the higher tuition they pay.

"Bonnie Dunbar, director of the University of Houston STEM Center, said she continues to see a STEM labor shortage, attributable in part to poor math course offerings by inner-city high schools. Many students, she said, donââ¬â¢t think they need math classes. Others donââ¬â¢t become interested in STEM occupations until later in their academic careers, when theyââ¬â¢re far behind on needed coursework." You'll notice Dunbar referenced the shortcomings of inner-city high schools and students. And she made no mention of the many American citizens who have successfully completed the academic requirements for STEM degrees, and are highly competent in their fields.
One of the liberal complaints against the STEM sector has for years been that those fields are overwhelmingly (i.e. disproportionately) dominated by white males. That has been (or was previously) a function of academic and career choice and ability, rather than any racist or sexist plot.
However, to liberals, the disproportionate white male dominance in these previously high-paying fields was some sort of crime or social injustice that had to be "fixed". H1B visas is the fix.

Hate to rain on everyone’s parade, but he may be more than half right on this. DH (PhD in Physics) worked for a contractor in the defense industry for 40 years before retiring in 2013. He hired and worked with young people. Sadly, recent American grads were entitled brats; couldn’t write at 6th grade level which is a problem when responding to RFPs, etc.; had no reasoning skills, and basically didn’t know the material. Many of these people had graduated with PhD degrees but shouldn’t have.
Foreign employees, even if educated in America, were better in every way. That’s a huge problem for America if foreigners are being hired in highly classified positions.
P.S. I don’t trust Rubio as far as I could throw him and he pretty much makes me sick.

What an ass. My company recently tried the outsourcing route for a location that had problems - mainly because management did not enforce fundamental SDLC rules on that division - a few bad apples were causing the problems.
The outsourcing company was even worse and still is.
Rubio is beyond help on this, I only hope Cruz comes around - because this is my personal bread and butter issue, because it is my job on the line. I don't ask for special treatment. I ask that the existing laws about abuse of H-1b be both enforced and strengthened to where H-1B is ONLY used to bring in truly gifted persons, not line workers.

Donald Trump will "politically MASSACRE" snarky little Marco "Amnesty" Rubio at the next GOP Presidential Debate ... by ATTACKING Rubio over the H1B Visa issue.
They debate television crews will need a ten-man bucket and mop brigade to mop the "political blood" off the floor ...
================================
I'm a GREAT Ted Cruz supporter ...
I spearheaded and organized the FIRST and VERY successful "Ted Cruz Florida Grassroots Leadership Conference" on 18 July 2015 in Orlando.
BUT ... as a Senior Aerospace Mechanical Engineer ... I've seen LOTS of Americans Computer Programmers, Engineers (et al) get FIRED and replaced by Indians and other H1B Visa "drones" ...
"Every" American scientist and engineer live in FEAR of H1B Visas ... trust me ...
Finally ... Ted Cruz's (otherwise brilliant campaign) comes to a screeching "Warp-Speed-Nine" DEAD-STOP in the future debate where Donald Trump CHALLENGES Ted Cruz on H1B Visas.
At that point, Ted Cruz's campaign is OVER - DEAD - FINISHED.
Jeff Roe (Ted Cruz National Campaign Manager) ... are you LISTENING ?????

Where is the evidence of her assertion? Maybe, just maybe, if we didn’t have the highest corporate tax rate in the world U.S. Corporations wouldn’t have to save as much money by hiring cheap foreign labor.
With all the welfare benefits available to the increasing number of gibmedats, foreign and domestic, we have more and more U.S. “workers” that don’t want to work. Liberalism is destroying much of this country. All the Rubio haters on this thread aren’t helping that.

Isn’t it nearly impossible to check degrees now? And oddly, it was our conservative Senator James Buckley who made that impossible with his educational privacy bill of c. 1975.
