A KTVT-CBS 11 / Dixie Strategies Poll of over 2,000 likely primary voters in Texas shows a pitched battle taking place at the top of the GOP ticket and Clinton dominance on the Democrat side.
Statewide, among likely GOP Primary voters, Dr. Ben Carson and real estate mogul Donald Trump are in a virtual tie at 22.93% and 22.17% respectively. Texas Senator Ted Cruz is the next nearest competitor at 14.27% with former Florida Governor Jeb Bush not too far behind Cruz at 12.65%. All other GOP candidates are polling under 7% with Florida Senator Marco Rubio ahead of former Hewlett-Packard CEO Carly Fiorina (6.57% and 4.57% respectively).

I only pointed it out so I could add Jeb’s to that list of ruthless warriors.
Mitt Romney King Amabo rerun.
Except Cruz has never led in TX. Trump was crushing him earlier. I’m very concerned about this Carson “boom.” It’s very clearly not coming from the grass roots, but I can’t figure out its source. He’s been on a book tour for Pete’s sake.
The same idiots that complain about congress,
But love their district congressman and senators and keep sending them back.
This country is truly screwed.
It’s the same group of idiots that pumped Santorum in 2012 for the same stupid reasons.
Conservatives just love losing with a big honking grin on their face....all the while calling the democrats and the GOPe evil and wimps.
Nominate this guy, and it’s 6 months of constant bitching about how the media is soooooo unfair to Carson. He’s such a “good Christian man” and he doesn’t deserve this....blah blah blah. And then the other half of them will wonder why he doesn’t “take the gloves off”.
But you can’t tell people anything these days.
Yes, it is.
There isn’t going to be any saving America from her fate.
And even when voters think that they are doing the right thing and send someone new to the government machine, like Jodi Ernst for instance, they simply got lied to.
There really is no way to save a country from its own government that is Hell bent on destroying it.
Even if a new party is started, it will be immediately infiltrated by these types from the old party.
I remember back in 2012, I volunteered for the Romney campaign in the general election, and I was one of only two people that thought he was going to lose to Obama (the other being the guy in charge of the campaign office).
Everyone was talking about unskewed polls and so on, but the actual polls showed no evidence of skewing and showed Romney losing consistently in almost all of the swing states.
People made jokes to me saying that the Obama campaign office is across the street, maybe you ought to go there, but I simply believe in facing reality, even if it is not pleasant.
Carson is surging in the polls right now. This is happening in Iowa and nationally. The DM Register poll is considered the gold standard of Iowa polling, it has an incredible track record. Maybe it will be wrong this time, but Ann Seltzer, who runs it, is probably the best pollster in the country.
This is not some subjunctive opinion, but just look at the final polls she made in previous cycles and the results and one can easily see she is extremely accurate. I would add that she had Joni Ernst winning extremely big in 2014, and liberals might have said she was biased then, but then the votes came in and she was right again.
Sorry for the rant.
I think Trump is going to step in it tonight.
I’ve been watching him.
I’ve been watching him, too. He gets better and better with EVERY filled-to-capacity speech he makes. He continues to hit hard on the issues that matter most to We the People...in America.
He continues to lead the pack, nationally.
Your *observance* is duly noted :)
You forgot your /s tag!
Except for your campaigning for Romney, I agree with you. Unfortunately, many of those who didn’t believe the polls didn’t believe the election results either. Sigh...
I have no idea what you’re talking about.
>>Anyone who thinks Cruz wont win Texas by a wide margin is delusional. Conservative Texans love Cruz.<<
That depends upon where he stands at the time of the vote. If he’s still failed to break out nationally, rational voters will cast their votes for one of the leaders because they’ll want their vote to matter.
For example, if current polling holds and it’s Trump and Carson neck and neck with Cruz still well back in the pack nationally, even Texans will want to get their choice registered as to whether it should be Trump or Carson. Cruz might be their second choice at that time, but he won’t be their first. You’re seeing the same phenomenon in the polling. Most people try to sort out the leaders and don’t follow politics closely enough to care about the candidates who are lagging well behind, and those people get polled too, because they vote.
Yes Trump is a very engaging person.
I also think a lot of stuff is going to start coming out about Ben Carson in the next few weeks. So far nobody has challenged him on his very weak positions on most issues but that will change. Probably starting tonight at the debate.
Will never vote for this amnesty turd
I only campaigned for him in the general election, not the primary.
And you are probably right, Romney would likely have been terrible too.
Then why broadcast your ignorance?
Why should we believe an establishment hack?
Maybe he’ll resurrect Terri.
