It's a not-so rosy report card for the nation's schoolchildren.
Math scores slipped for fourth and eighth graders over the last two years, and reading grades were not much better, flat for fourth graders and lower for eighth graders, according to the 2015 Nation's Report Card.

What a load of crap.
I see it. I don’t get it.
That is an injustice to kids nowadays.
Whatever happened to flashcards and memorization?
This ping list is for the other articles of interest to homeschoolers about education and public school. This can occasionally be a fairly high volume list. Articles pinged to the Another Reason to Homeschool List will be given the keyword of ARTH. (If I remember. If I forget, please feel free to add it yourself)
The main Homeschool Ping List handles the homeschool-specific articles. I hold both the Homeschool Ping List and the Another Reason to Homeschool Ping list. Please freepmail me to let me know if you would like to be added to or removed from either list, or both.
The article reads like a sports announcer reporting on a game:
“down two points” “up three points” “scores were higher for fourth graders... up seven points ... up six points”
And the students are split into teams:
“white” “black” “Hispanic” “The average score for white students...”
It’s all so ridiculous. So glad to be a homeschool family in a state that doesn’t require this testing.
Common Core will only make it worse.
That certainly lends itself to working in a corporate environment.
