For anyone who might still be somehow unaware, the US is currently in a superpower staring match with both Russia and China. The conflict in Syria has put Moscow back on the geopolitical map (so to speak), creating an enormous amount of tension with Washington whose regional allies have been left to look on in horror as Russian airstrikes and an Iranian ground incursion dash hopes of ousting President Bashar al-Assad.
Meanwhile, in The South China Sea, Beijing has built 3,000 acres of new sovereign territory atop reefs in the Spratlys and although the reclamation effort itself isn’t unique, the scope of it most certainly is and Washington’s friends in the South Pacific are crying foul.
Beijing has continually insisted that it doesn’t intend to use the islands as military outposts, but the construction of runways and ports seems to tell a different story and so, Washington felt compelled to check things out over the summer by sending a Poseidon spy plane complete with a CNN crew to the area. Once the PLA spotted the plane the situation escalated quickly with the Chinese Navy telling US pilots to “Go Now!”
After that, an intense war of words developed with Defense Secretary Ash Carter insisting that the US would sail and fly anywhere it pleased and Beijing assuring the US that sailing within 12 nautical miles of the islands would prompt a harsh response from the PLA.
For weeks, the US was rumored to have been planning a freedom of navigation exercise in the Spratlys which, as we’ve pointed out several times this month, amounts to sailing by the islands just to see if China will shoot.

I totally agree. I remember hearing about the eval I got for the AF. Heard they talked to my old neighbors, my Scoutmaster no less, and others. None of these pajama boys, atheists, socialists, radical academics, communists, and people that admire Mao and Che' would have gotten past the initial eval in the 70s. Now it enhances their street cred.
We are indeed in an acute national crisis.

Last time a US navy ship was in the area was way back in 2012 according to a previous post some weeks ago.

From our declining lawless violent borders, our flailing economy to our military...Those folks in government best not forget on a real war scale, the enemy now has all their personal data...Everything. When Obama lit up the White House in support of deviate homosexuals while bribing the Iranians with billions in tax dollars, you just knew everything would be in free fall.
Our leaderless government is an unmitigated disaster.
If the Chinese scream and stomp their feet enough, Obama will tuck tail and run, just like he always does. This will turn into yet another humiliation for us.

Volodya Putin was clearly a boy not lacking in noble instincts. Almost everyone who knew him as a child remembers that he stood up for the weak, and that although he was short and puny, he was brave enough to fight boys stronger and heavier than him. But commentators have studiously overlooked another very striking and important fact. Conflicts did not so much seek Putin out, as Putin seek them out. Do I see a fight? Can I join in? And when he did join in, he always threw the first punch.

I don't sleep at night thinking of all the negative possibilities that could and might happen from now until January 20, 2017.
If the Republican nominee wins, I'll be relieved that at least American adults will be placed in the highest levels of our government. That's assuming they can get rid of all the embedded socialists, communists and MB. It will take a generation to turn this around.
I can't even handle thinking of a Hillary win. . 8 more years of Obama. . We surely won't survive.
