You don't have to be an alcoholic to have a drunk-driving incident.

Actually you’d be better off being an alcoholic, that is an experienced drinker.
However, if the girl is not a big drinker, and asuming she WAS home by 10 as stated, then it is hard to imagine her getting a load on in the early AM.
Her mug shot is posted over at Twitchy, she looks like a most ordinary person, and she does not look particularly wasted.
In general, a first time drunk driver is much more likely to get into an accident than a well-worn alcoholic.
of course not!! I drank and drove WAY too much in my 20s.
At 47 I can see it was crazy. but i wasn’t 47 then.
Crashed into a cemetery gate once. That’s it.
But drive into a crowd?
fight with boyfriend AND drunk AND took a pill or a hit or a snort?
dont know.
Mental illness hidden?
Diabetics can have an imbalance and act as if drunk under certain circumstances.
This is one of those incidents where we need to sit back and wait for more information.
Sometimes bad things happen. We’ll have to wait and see what the problem was.
I feel bad for all the families and friends of everyone involved here.
What a tragedy.
If she did something wrong, she should be charged and pay the price.
If she didn’t, folks will have to come to terms with it. Sometimes life sucks, and there’s no comforting way to grasp it all.
