Will they withstand repeated hit from a 105/120mm tank round? Or RPGs? How about depth charges and other anti-sub munitions for those hiding underwater?
If SHTF their staff will do them in.
This could easily be a story about the three branches of our Regime.
As the world progresses in its labor pains leading up to the return of Christ, every safe haven will disappear. Every one. Read the Revelation.
The rich believe they will be safe on islands out in the sea. An earthquake will shake them into the water. They believe they will be safe in tunnels. Earthquake.
And no concrete shelter is safe from demons.
The only safe place will be to be in Christ through faith.
All their preparations will ultimately be of no avail. They would be better advised to make preparations for eternity.
Sounds like a cool name for a new sandwich shop. I like Firehouse Subs, myself.
I need to mail each one of the these billionaires a copy of “A Canticle for Leiboweitz.”
The minute these fools stick their heads above ground, armies of insane and totally pissed off survivors will kill them.
It won’t matter to the survivors if the former PowersTB promise food and safety because everyone will after those who caused the catastrophe. When there is nothing left to lose...
The ultra rich are so dependent on their entourages. What, will they take their personal assistants and bodyguards with them? And why would these underlings remain loyal? They’d slay their rich, weakling masters immediately.
If you can manage to lay low for a few weeks after the SHTF, a good percentage of the feral humans will have managed to kill each other off by that time.
Think back to Katrina. The people who did well, were neighborhoods where the people pitched in and provided for their own security. Neighbors took turns manning the barricade at the end of the street, no one came in unless they had home or friends in that area.
If some kind of collapse comes, that is the model. Have some supplies for yourself and a little extra for family who turn up on your doorstep. Work with your neighbors to keep outsiders at bay.
Another example. In the late nineties Ecuador’s economy and banking system and currency collapsed, and for a month no one got paid, no one had access to their accounts, nothing. People lived for a month on what they had in their pantry and their pockets. ATM’s did not work because the entire banking system was down. And yet there were no riots, people just hunkered down and endured it. Families pulled in, neighbors helped neighbors.
Thats how you get through. Compare that with the counter example of Katrina in the slums where people victimized each other. Thats the other side of the coin, and its the reason you’ll want in addition to your extra beans and rice, you have a shotgun and a few boxes of shells. Thats why you and the neighbors will have that barricade at the end of the street.
I can understand a mountain cabin or a island getaway....
And said to the mountains and rocks, Fall on us, and hide us from the face of him that sitteth on the throne, and from the wrath of the Lamb.
- Revelation 6:16
BUT...do those elites know how to use a weapon effectively?
After a collapse, there is a tomorrow. The problem is making the transition. If you have to scrounge through dumpsters to survive the transition, you aren’t going to make good decisions, your decisions will be panic-driven.
After Katrina it took a month to get things going again. After the collapse in Ecuador it took a month to get things going again. A month is a good measure for a high percentage of things that are likely to happen, and its something that anyone can prepare for. A month’s worth of pork-and-beans in the garage isn’t hard to manage.
If you are a captain of industry, you’ve got a bigger problem, you’re a bigger target. But you need the same thing as anyone else, time and space to make the transition and a way to keep your family safe in the meantime. Actually, you have a bigger problem because a lot more people depend on you.
Another thing to consider if you’re a captain of industry: you may wake up to find you’ve become an “enemy of the people” overnight, and you’ll need a place to go out of reach of the new regime. Thats when you’ll wish you had that extra set of passports stashed in a safe place.
Something many people miss when they are making their plans is this: Its never just you. You have people who depend on you. The richer you are, the bigger target you are of course but also the more people there are who depend on you to make the right decisions. Its never just about you and it is never more plain than when things start to go south.
