Putin: No Need to Distinguish between ‘Moderate’ & Other Terrorists
RT ^ | October 22, 2015 | RT

There can be no "moderate" terrorists, President Putin said, speaking about the situation in the Middle East at the Valdai discussion forum.

Trends Russian anti-terror op in Syria "Why play with words dividing terrorists into moderate and not moderate. What's the difference?" Putin told the forum.

A whole "snarl" of terrorist groups act in the region, who fight also against each other for "sources of income" and not for ideology, Putin said, adding that the weapons provided to "moderate" opposition in the region had ended up in the hands of terrorists.

Some countries are playing a double game, the Russian president said, adding that while they fight against terrorism they also "place figures on the board" in their own interests.

“Success in fighting terrorists cannot be reached if using some of them as a battering ram to overthrow disliked regimes," Putin told the forum, saying that this way the terrorists would not go anywhere. "It's just an illusion that they can be dealt with [later], removed from power and somehow negotiated with," he added.

Agreeing that all terrorists need to be killed should be worth a Nobel Peace Prize.

No evidence has been produced that Russia had anything to do with shooting down MH 17. At the time, the US intelligence community admitted it had no “direct evidence” of Russian involvement, including presence of Russian military personnel at the launch or evidence of Russia training others on the system. http://www.businessinsider.com/us-intelligence-russia-not-directly-involved-mh17-carsh-2014-7 The most they would say would say that Russia somehow “created the conditions” that led to the disaster and said it was probably shot down “by mistake.”

The Russia MOD, in an international press conference, declared that he US had a satellite right over the site of the shoot-down at the time and challenged the US to produce its satellite intelligence. The US, to my knowledge, has never denied the Russian allegation and has never produced intelligence from the satellite.

On the other hand, there is no dispute that the US Navy shot down Iran Air 655 in 1988 killing all 274 people on board. Are you going to post pictures of victims from that tragedy and blame President Reagan? I thought not.

Yes, Russia has lied about its involvement. But, they gave rockets to their drunken allies so that their drunken buddies could shoot down planes. And, that's what they did. And, that's why those children are dead. And, then they looted the crash site. That was another nice touch.

Putin may be your hero, but he's not mine.

No proof as expected. No comment on Iran Air 655.

The children were killed when their plane was struck by a Russian-made Buk missile.

And, do you remember this guy?

I do. Anyone who believes that we can trust the russians is dangerously naive.

Ukraine also has “Russian made” BUK missiles, of which there is no dispute that there were plenty in the area.

As to Litvineko:

Yes, that’s right, the UK coroner has never even ruled his death a “homicide,” among other things.

Litvineko was possibly a suicide, is that what you're saying? Nobody other person did that to him?

You're right. I think that Putin is an incompetent puke, but I guess that's obvious.

I don't think that Putin is at all incompetent. I think that he is an experienced KGB thug who will do anything to take control. One of the most frightening things that George W ever said was:

"I looked the man in the eye. I found him to be very straightforward and trustworthy. We had a very good dialogue. I was able to get a sense of his soul; a man deeply committed to his country and the best interests of his country."

George W. Bush, joint press conference (16 June 2001).

There is not a shred of evidence that Putin had anything to do with Nemstov’s demise. Arrests have been made; there will be judicial proceedings.

As if Putin would somehow benefit from the slaying of a has been political opponent with about a 1% approval rating compared to his own 89.9% (the latest) just steps from the Kremlin.

George W. Bush? Who has on his conscience the illegal Iraq war with hundreds of thousands dead, 4500 of them Americans, sold on a falsehood. Two trillion down the drain; ISIS in control of a third of Iraq’s territory and the rest under Iranian influence.

“Vladimir Putin — yes, he was an officer of the intelligence services, but he was not a KGB investigator, nor was he the head of a camp in the gulag. As for service in foreign intelligence, that is not a negative in any country — sometimes it even draws praise. George Bush Sr. was not much criticized for being the ex-head of the CIA, for example.”

“Putin inherited a ransacked and bewildered country, with a poor and demoralized people. And he started to do what was possible — a slow and gradual restoration. These efforts were not noticed, nor appreciated, immediately. In any case, one is hard pressed to find examples in history when steps by one country to restore its strength were met favorably by other governments.”

Alexander Solzhenitsyn, Nobel Prize Winner for Literature, author of “The Gulag Archipelago,” now required reading in Russian schools.

You can live in whatever dreamworld you wish. If you want to try to convince people that Putin is just too nice a guy to be involved in killing people, that will be your challenge.

I'd like to see that. Why don't you go ahead and tell people that Putin is too nice a guy to be involved in killing people? Tell people what you know about him in that regard.

Meanwhile, don't let Putin's laughing at you bother you. You go right ahead and tell people what you know about Putin that convinces you he's too nice a guy to kill people.

The first principle of debate is “he who asserts must prove.”

All I can say is that I have researched on the internet every one of these alleged “Putin murders” that I have come across and have not found credible evidence to back any of them up. In nearly all cases, the murder in question harmed Putin in public opinion more than it could possibly have helped him (and whatever you think of him he is a smart man and smart enough to know that) and/or that other elements including Russian mafia oligarchs, or others had much better motives than he had in the individual case.
