He’s the patron saint of lost causes, at least if they bring the spotlight his way. In that sense he’s emblematic of the flamboyantly uncompromising comrades in the so-called Freedom Caucus in the House of Representatives, who similarly confuse attention with accomplishment.
All of them, with Cruz as their spiritual leader, have turned petulance into a theory of governing, or rather anti-governing, as they breezily disregard the contradiction of their ravenous lunge to become monarchs of a kingdom that they supposedly want to topple, to gain power over a system that they ostensibly intend to enfeeble.
Cruz doesn’t propose remedies. He performs rants. He’s not interested in collaboration or teamwork. His main use for other politicians, even in his party, is as foils and targets. Paul Ryan got a taste of that over the weekend, when Cruz, on NBC’s “Meet the Press,” was asked if Ryan was a true conservative and dodged the question, withholding his blessing.
He should be careful about genuineness versus phoniness, given the problems with his own prairie-populist pose.
Cruz’s law degree is from Harvard and he did his undergraduate work at Princeton, where the 250-year-old debating club that he belonged to is called the American Whig-Cliosophic Society. Cruz’s wife is on leave from a job with Goldman Sachs.
Keep that in mind when he rails against the establishment and the elites. And remember that when someone is as broadly and profoundly disliked as Cruz is, it’s usually not because he’s a principled truth teller.
It’s because he’s frightening.

However, the NYT has no interest in a return to Constitutional order for the Federal government, because that will mean that hundreds of government departments will be cut, and hundreds of thousands of government drones will be looking for work. And, there'll be plenty of private sector jobs, once things get cooking again, because taxes and regulations, the hag that is riding the back of business, would be thrown off in a Cruz administration.

I personally have experienced what Ted Cruz wants for America (tens of thousands of H1B hordes) and I won’t stand for his ilk lying to grassroots Americans as they take our money and then betray us to goddless fatcats.
It was in the middle of a battle which Ted Cruz and a few senators fought against the 'Gang of 8' amnesty bill. He offered an amendment to counteract pro-illegal immigration provisions of the amnesty bill.
I, and many people, are grateful that Ted Cruz led this fight. Otherwise, they would have approved amnesty already.

1) Ted Cruz wants MORE immigration when we already have tens of millions of foreign moochers in this country who need to go home.
2) Ted Cruz has refused to answer whether he would send illegals home
3) Ted Cruz is married to a top-level executive at Goldman Sachs and has received millions upon millions of dollars from the people who caused the financial crisis.
4) Donald Trump is independent of these godless liars and can’t be bought by them.
5) Ted Cruz voted for TPA and voted for Corker’s pro-Iran abomination.
6) Not one poll has ever been conducted which shows Cruz beating Clinton. Even Marco Rubio and Jeb Bush do better in the general election than Cruz.
7) Ted Cruz’s voice and demeanor sound like an arrogant, high-pitched nerd boy who everyone hated in high school. Normal people find him repellent.
8) Ted Cruz is in bed with fraudulent Beltway “conservative” groups like the Club for Growth. I have read tons of stories on how these disgusting liars spend their contributors’ money on mansions, beer fountains, and private jets.
9) Ted Cruz is a piss-poor strategist who has never once articulated and executed a strategy that came to positive results. He’s not a leader, he’s a whiner.
