On Tuesday’s “New Day” on CNN, Republican presidential front-runner defended his response aimed at his GOP opponent former Gov. Jeb Bush (R-FL), who had claimed in a debate earlier this month that the country was kept safe under former President George W. Bush.

Not so fast. Trump just extended the love to Bill with Stuart Varney. Bushes and Clintons blaming each other. I love the smell of naplam in the morning.

Jeb must be completely destroyed because he represents the monied interests. Rubio is next and I bet he is guzzling water and pissing himself right about now.

I do not listen to Rush any more, but I do sometimes read the transcripts from his show that are posted on this forum. It appeared to me the other day that Rush was trying to defend/excuse W, and create the idea that somehow Trump's statement about W not keeping us safe was going to protect Hillary from Benghazi. I did not quite get what I considered to be rather tortured logic about that, perhaps if I had the entire discussion to read I would have. But here is what I got out of what I did read: Rush was trying subtly to damage Trump. Rush made the statement that all of the 911 terrorists were here on legal visas, which is simply not true. Many visas had expired, many were misused, and the visas applications were improperly filled out would not hold up to scrutiny, in short they should not have been granted in the first place, and 9 months into the Bush administration, these terrorists on their 6-month expired visas were STILL in this country! Secondly, Rush spoke about the holdovers from the Clinton era which Bush had retained. Rush excused this stating that Bush had done this in the spirit of bipartisanship, (which I find inexcusable.) And so the foolish Clinton policy of not allowing the sharing of law enforcement agencies to communicate with each other was STILL IN PLACE!!! It is one thing perhaps to not immediately replace personnel, but Bush could have ordered the the CIA and FBI, as well as other agencies share information, and institute other sane changes, but instead chose to continue the same policies. So, NINE MONTHS into the Bush administration, and knowing something was likely to happen, Bush, like Clinton, was not allowing information to be shared among the law enforcement and intelligence agencies. In short, Bush and Clinton had exactly the same national security policies, and I was forced to conclude, based on Rush's statements, that Bush was every bit as responsible as Clinton for 911 because his national security policies and people were exactly the same as his predecessor. If I am mistaken about this, please set me straight. If not, Trump is absolutely right.

You also don’t have to actually MELT steel for a building to collapse, just soften it and weaken the structure.

I can’t believe that some people actually believe that something else caused the towers to collapse, when were all watching it on TV.

Why don;t you come out and say Gore and Kerry would have done a better job defending the United States. I notice you still won’t dare to criticize Clinton.

haven’t we all thought about why nothing more was done to prevent 911 BEFORE with all of those direct warnings that came out months before.. why no stepped up investigations of young muslim men who had come in recently on visas.. they didn’t even check up on the ones who over stayed their visas. If they had just done that there is a good chance they would have smelled out those guys before they pulled it off.. We couldn’t catch any of those screw ups and they were screw ups... they were sitting right out there taking flying lessons from instructors who were baffled why they never wanted to take lessons to learn to land planes they just wanted to know how to fly them when the were already in flight .. how fast would it take for even a novice FBI agent to smell that rat with just a 2 minute conversation with their flight instructor?.. nobody bothered

Immigration from ‘friendly’ nations and people like the Saudis has not been a great benefit to the US. Six of the World Trade Center bombers were from ‘friendly’ Saudi Arabia. I often think back to the early days of the US when Jefferson gave notice to the hoods at Tripoli to keep their hands off of US shipping.

I am so sorry, I did paragraph my remarks. They are very hard to read. I wrote:

I notice you still won’t dare to criticize Clinton.

LoL. Blind squirrel.

If you would open your eyes, you would see that Trump has hit Hellary on Benghazi, her Email scandal, and even that old chestnut the White Water crime.

So who was the worst Secretary of State in the history of the Untied States?

I think you know the answer.

No, it wasn’t to exonerate. He doesn’t need to do that, because the GOP will.

The GOP is never going to get to the bottom of what happened in Benghazi, because they were involved in it too. The entire government has signed off on arming “moderate” islamists, and it’s been that way a long time. How long ago did Benghazi happen? And what do we know after all these years? Nothing.

Both parties are into this crap up to their eyeballs and they are not going to hold themselves accountable for anything. Trey Gowdy’s committee will arrive at NOTHING.

As far as attacking Jeb goes, I don’t see why he wouldn’t attack Jeb. The guy is a complete douchebag, and he’s trying to be elected president, and yes, the GOP is stupid enough to nominate Jeb, so yeah, attack away Donald.

Destroy him.

He was being told over and over again, attack may just be weeks away! Attack may be "delayed," but still in the works. They were essentially being told that an attack can happen at any time.

Since they didn't appear to have specific information on the kind of attack, where it would occur, who was involved, etc., what exactly do you think could have been done that wasn't done? Close airports, train stations, shopping malls, schools, any public venue that might be a target of a bombing?

In retrospect, we can say things should have been different, but hindsight is always 20/20. Remember that the Clinton administration had gutted a good part of our intelligence apparatus and deliberately made it so that intelligence could not be shared among the agencies, and it takes time to reconstitute those capabilities.

but what really matters is whether he is an actual conservative selling conservatism to the "average Joe"

My top priority is whether the candidate will actually cut the federal government since that government is the enemy of conservatives and conservatism.

Nick,

It’s much easier to get on the bandwagon. Hating on Trump is hard work and you are getting carried away with it.

Please do your part to Make America Great Again.

Not only do I wonder why nothing more was done to prevent 9/11, I am seriously wondering why we seem to be inviting the next one on us.

Whose fault is the next one not going to be with us inviting seemingly the entire third world into this country?

Our government is completely and totally insane, and not in a good way.

In fact, as far as I can tell, the ONLY thing our government learned from 9/11 is how to use such an event to advance their f***ing agenda!
