The United States is in decline. While not all major shocks to the system will be devastating, when the right one comes along, the outcome may be dramatic.
Not all explosives are the same. We all know you have to be careful with dynamite. Best to handle it gently and not smoke while you’re around it.
Semtex is different. You can drop it. You can throw it. You can put it in the fire. Nothing will happen. Nothing until you put the right detonator in it, that is.
To me, the US – and most of the supposedly free West – increasingly looks like a truck being systematically filled with Semtex.

Do you really think that it would take 25-30 years to purge the system. It will take that long to clear the brainwashing generations have endured for the last 70 years. We may not have that long, but I don’t see it as another excuse to give up.
Probably at least that long. The changes that need to be have to allow for significant changes in the organizing of “the system”, unwinding of the groupthink of the parents, and the re-introduction of personal responsibility to a mass of people who are not going to like it.

I submit the 60s antiwar movement and other movements did rip the country apart and gave us the Clintons, John Kerry and worst of all, Barack and Michelle Obama. The 60s radicals took over education in America and the rest was easy.

If you want to see how much America has changed, watch TV shows from the early sixties and compare them to TV now.
I watch them occasionally on MeTV. All In the Family, for example. Quality programming....

I watched recently and just realized that Stretch Cunningham was played by James Cromwell. At first I was thinking Ed O’neill but nope, it was Cromwell.
Ah yes, you specified the 60s and AITF was from a decade later, thru most of the 70s. I watched all those great network programs the mid-50's onward and they truly "don't make them like that anymore."
I also say the same about automobiles of that era compared to modern cars. People I know with several kids (which most families do not have) have cars filled with child seats of various sizes.
As a child, I would sometimes lay on the back window ledge of our 1960 Chevy Impala. Todays cars have no back window ledge which is good because you would be arrested for abuse if your kid laid on it while the car was moving.
Let’s all listen to what the Kremlin says about their arch enemy - the US. Especially when they have their own economic problems with a house built on oil alone and prices dropping.
